This sums up the liberals of today. They are so self absorbed with their hatred of all things Trump that most (not all) never stood once during the SOTU. I hear so many liberals on ATS preach from virtue hill yet last night during the SOTU we were all able to see for ourselves their absolute disgusting display of anti-Americanism.

If this post sums up liberals of today, does the existence of this thread sum up conservatives of today?

You have seen these before, haven't you? The party who's President is in power claps and stands at everything, and the party who's not in power just sits there and scowls. This is how it has been for a while. No news here.

If anyone is expecting any type of unity from Trump or his supporters, don't hold your breath. Division is the name of the game, and they live off of it like a fish lives off water.

This ends in a broken country, no matter how you look at it. I hope those tax breaks are worth it.

(Just some thoughts reading this and several other OP's today. Not necessarily about the OP or lack of one above.)

From a liberal website this morning...

Who are we to argue against the left's claim on this topic?

I didn't expect them to stand at everything, but when Trump mentioned the black unemployment rate, for example, he wasn't claiming that he was responsible for that. He was simply listing off the state of the country in general. You would think they would have been able to stand for that.

When Trump talked about paid family leave, not just legalization but a path to citizenship for DACA kids, infrastructure spending ... those are all things Democrats have stated over and over and over that they are for and they have pushed and pushed for them in the past. Why couldn't they stand for those?

But the unemployment rate is something he's taken credit for in the past, publicly on twitter. So it's reasonable to assume he's doing the same here. Why would anyone stand and applaud someone who is knowingly lying to their face?

To the last part, I assume they didn't stand because Trumps whole support for DACA is wrapped up in its usefulness as a political bargaining chip, that Trump then used to try to make them look bad. It's pretty low to use the future of peoples lives as a bargaining chip, regardless of whether they are here legally or not.

It appears to me as a Redcoat some are really trying a bit too hard to paint the other side as the bad guys.

But isn't that exactly what the Democrats do every time they trot out how horrible Republicans are for not legalizing DACA kids and for wanting to break up their families?

Aren't they using them as political bargaining chips?

The leaders of the DNC have such a low opinion of their base that they really think that they are not losing any of them because of their absurd hypocrisy.

They really believe that people only get their news from CNN/MSNBC/HuffPO/Washington Post/NYT.

That's why we need to support third parties and independents.

It's pretty obvious that the Democrats AND republicans just want to play games with our Tax dollars. That's been clear for decades. Both of the major parties playing games.

The Democrats aren't really even really Liberal-To be so, they'd need to adapt the green party platform but ...they make too much money of of corporate donors that wouldn't like that.. The Republicans would have more of a Libertarian or Constitution party platform if they were truly conservative. Yet you guys support one of these two parties.

Some probably are, but only one side wants to throw them out of the country.
