The flag in question in DBC's post which I replied to. That flag. Its a lifestyle flag which does not recognize borders. But I mean, hey, if were going to burn flags right? Or paint them white to be stepped on, or whatever else shock statement needs to be made to vent anger and frustration.

Now THAT is an artistic statement of the duality of censorship. You cannot allow the burning of one without allowing the burning of the other.

And then they say they are Americans who love their country and flag.

This is a tough one. I think what this professor (I use the term loosely) did was childish and about as clever as when we would make crank calls when I was a kid. Art has always been subjective, but now they are lowering the bar so far that it could be anything. Any talentless hack could throw up in a fast food bag, smash it with a hammer and call it art.

If she wants to do this, fine. It is offensive to me, and you just KNOW if somebody put the shoe on the other foot, and made effigys of Obama and Maxine Waters hanging from a tree with a burnt cross next to them, the triggering and wailing would be epic. If I took a picture of a gay couple kissing, and stuck knives in it, and painted "Going straight to hell" on it, the triggering would be off the hook.

What I find funny about leftists is their inability to allow others to express themselves at the level that they demand for themselves.

Their hypocrisy is what gets to me. This woman pretty much did this immature act for the attention and the publicity. So be it. If I do an 'art installation' of a dildo and put an "AIDS MACHINE" sign underneath, will I receive the same support?

as far as im concerned you can do what you want with the flag! i believe it is freedom of speech! but i wont respect you for dissing the flag! i stood in school for years with my hand over my heart and pledged allegence to that flag! so to my mind anyone disrespecting the flag is ignorant of its real meaning and i'll consider you a lesser person! lots of blood shed for that flag! respect and gratitude to those who serve our country and the flag is represents!
