Turkey is no longer a free country, according to global rights report

Political and civil rights in Turkey have degraded so severely under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that it is no longer a free country, according to a new report on freedoms around the world.

The annual Freedom in the World report, produced by the US NGO Freedom House, has classified Turkey as “not free” for the first time since the report series began in 1999. It had lost its status as “partly free” due to a slide in political and civil rights.

Freedom House pointed to Mr Erdogan’s widespread crackdown in the wake of a failed 2016 coup and the disputed referendum in 2017 which gave the Turkish president widespread new powers.

As I was saying in other threads, for some time about Erdogans crack down and purges..which the staged coup helped him to greatly accelerate his plans, while blaming the USA for it.

“The country’s score has been in free fall since 2014 due to an escalating series of assaults on the press, social media users, protesters, political parties, the judiciary, and the electoral system, as President Recep Tayyip Erdodan fights to impose personalised control over the state and society in a deteriorating domestic and regional security environment.”

Here's some scary stats..as I said in other threads, even teachers are Erdogans enemies.
Don't worry they are being replaced by Islamic fundamentalist Madrassa schools and "teachers".

EU can't even accept Bosnia & Albania .

Germans will be begging Erdogan in 10 years and French will betray Germans as soon as it is politically expedient to do so .

Narrow mindedness prevails in EU " elite " and that is due to restrictive nature of Franco-German axis which is based upon Greco-Roman values .

It could have been different and wqith the inclusion of Russia , Ukraine , Turkey ; the borders of Europe could have extended all the way to China .

EU could have become a true force on Earth for goodness and decency ; instead it became a Catholic Christian Club that hates Orthodox Christians , Muslims and Jews .

Europeans have been worshipping Saturn and Churches are empty ,young people are into nothing but hedonism and instant self gratification .

It is sad to see that the potential of EU is wasted on the altar of men with big egos.

Oh , last year 60000 underage abortions performed in Greece alone and currently 10's of thousands of refugees children have gone missing within EU .

Truth will hit you all soooo hard in the face one day ; it will be a sad but a necessary day for humanity too.

It wasn't always like this ; once upon a time the idea of European Civilisation really had a merit and appeal all around the World .

If the European Union incorporated Russia, it would become an appendage of Russia, a classic example of the "reverse take-over". The recent history of the Eurovision Song Contest demonstrates how that would work.

For someone who claims to be British, you seem to have every response we see from the typical Islamofascist Turk across the Internet.

Greece has nothing to do with Turkeys fall from the Wests preferred Muslim Middle Eastern country.

Turkey is finished. It's going to be Balkanized.
The sooner you accept that, and make your peace with it, the sooner you'll be happy again.

Do you notice any similar patterns with the reporting on Turkey in the West and Israeli press, compared to say Iraq before it was turned into a pile of rubble, before Libya, before/during Syrias war, on how they treat Iran in the media?

Turkey, thanks to Erdogan whose played his role excellently, has been turned into the next Islamofascist regime.

Keep ranting and raving about how Germany will need you, France will need you.

They were never really serious about it anyway.
Erdogan used it to beat down his opponents with the EU watching over his shoulder.
Since then Turkeys true colours have come out to shine.

As I said in another thread, the West is going through the motions slowly. There are still factions within the West, and even Israel, which still hope that things can be turned around in Turkey. But it's a losing battle for them. Turkey is gone.
Remember not long ago there were calls from several senators and so on in the US to kick Turkey out of NATO.
Turkey will try jump in Russia's lap to save it self. But you'll see something like a revised version of the treaty of sevres being implemented when all out civil war is instigated in Turkey. Turks will be the big losers this century in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The same chains Turkey is trying to break free from, are going to be used to strangle it and break it apart.

Turkey wants Gulen. Give him Gulen.

Yeah, or this is just a ruse to cloak a de-secular and autorianism of Turkey by Erdogan.

The whole Gulen thing is not what it seems.
If any of it was true, the US would have extradited him.

But look at the big show in the Turkish media by Erdogan. Demanding the USA hand him over. Acting as if Turkey is an equal to the USA.

It's all by design. Erdogan is doing his job of bringing Turkey to what it is, and what is to come. Gulen played his part too. A new Middle East will emerge in the end, and it wont be recognizable to the Middle East map you look at today.

Not really .

EU needed Britan , Turkey , Russia and Ukraine . Fundamental problem is the small mindedness of French and German politicians who want to be the top dogs in Europe .

Truth however is slightly different ; France and Germany don't have the vision to take the leap and turn the regional EU power into a Worldwide power .

Russia , Turkey , Ukraine and UK could have accomplish this task but obviously the admission of these 4 countries to the " Inner Circle " of EU would have meant the destruction of hegemony of France-German Axis .

If you are really interested in the nitty gritty details than this whole thing is about the end of " fiat currency " and return to neo-serfdom for European Citizenry .

Last 500 years of British Foreign Policy is to play the Central European Powers against one another .

The European Union is unconsciously trying to be a "universal state" in the Toynbee sense. Not taking over the world, but embracing the whole territory of a particular culture. In this case, the culture of Western Europe, the "Latin" world of the Middle Ages. To do that well, it needs to limit itself to that territory.

No longer free? They are a member state of NATO, doing its dirty work in Syria. But not a member of the EU, because they are primarily Muslim. Not a slave state to Brussels, like all the other "EU" countries.

Turkey is inconsequential to the resource needs of Europe. If they become too hostile they will be no different than Russia.

Europe does not need turkey. It's the other way around. Turkey does not have the infrastructure and engineering to create their own machinery and innovation. This is it is heavily reliant on imports of manufactured goods.

Turkey needs the EU. The EU could crush turkey and make them reliant on Russia. A far more dangerous trading partner with less stable goods.
