Well, we are told over and again the GOP will get slaughtered in the midterms. I wonder this time. THe Democrats pushed through a government shutdown, that in the ned became a non-issue.
Trump got the tax cut passed, and that, plus the other pro-growth economic steps, have unleashed the US economic engine and we expect to see above 3% GDP growth in 2018.
Trump knows how to force the left further into extremist, wacko world, alienating the middle voter.
Even now, with DACA, Trump is playing a game of exposing the left as not wanting DACA, what they want is obstruction.

So will the GOP take a bath in the midterms? Because they are the party in power, they have more votes and more to defend, but I don't see a sweeping loss. In fact, I would not be surprised to see the trend broken this year, and the GOP gains seats.

I think the democrats make minor gains at best as long as nancy and chuck are calling the shots they will remain behind the 8 ball.

As long as elections are based on emotions and not on reason, it'll always be a toss-up.

And if they're establishment republicans or democrats then nothing will ever change or matter.

Just my opinion.

These midterms may have the most impact of any in my lifetime. Trump managed to draw ppl to the polls that hadn't voted in years, and, true to his word, he is working tirelessly to MAGA.

The job is not finished though. In fact, it is only the beginning. It will take years to turn this around, and he needs the help of congress.

I implore all who want to see America as what it could be to get out in November, and help our President by stemming the liberal tide.

A nice post, and a nice sentiment, but really?

Congress either wants Trump gone or Trump dead. Congress hates Trump.

And there's nothing wrong with liberals. It's the anti-freedom assholes that occupy both parties that we all should be looking at.

I disagree that all in congress want him gone. The alternative is scary.

I suppose not all libs are bad. It depends what issues they are liberal on. I couldn't care less if gays want to get married, but I don't want my tax dollars used to redistribute wealth to those to lazy to work for a living, or to support wasteful, redundant government programs.

Just look at two issues; healthcare and the hush funds.

Do either "side" actually care if things are resolved?

Just because we avoided Hillary does not mean that it's all good in DC.

trump played the dems for fools, and another shut down is not far off... Because of trump, Dems are back in the game. The republicans were utter fools for making trump their candidate.

We hate Trump.

We are going to find that Trump did something wrong sometime within his life and, we are not going to give up until we do, even if we have to lie some along the way.

We will fight the Trump administration on everything they do... relentlessly.

We hate tax cuts and spending cuts and promise to find ways to take more of your money and spend more money that we don't have.

We want amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants because we really need their votes, we will do anything to get our way. Anything! We want open borders and free immigration and will keep trying to make that happen.

We don't like a booming economy and promise to find more ways to slow it down with higher taxes, more restrictions and regulations and massive bureaucracies.

Please join us, help us make America stupid again.

Vote for us!

Democrats

By this, do you mean Trump is reasonable?

We've never had a President who is more emotional than this guy. And I don't consider his emotions to be the "good ones", but rather the 'undesired ones' we all try to hide or overcome.

I think most of Trump's base knows what a corrupt system we have. That's why they voted for a tough talking, perceived outsider.

I haven't become quite that cynical that I think ALL of the pols are evil. I like to believe there are many who truly care about our country.

It's going to take time to expose the "swamp", if it's possible at all.

Have some faith. After all, what's the alternative.

Too old, too cynical, too balding and I'm a lousy dancer.

But if you still have faith in the system, then I won't do anything to dissuade you of that!

I can think of a great number of people who would be better but What does that have to do with what I asked?

You've essentially said in order to be reasonable, we should support someone who is overly emotional.
How do you figure that?

Trump is one-dimensional. Most of us are more sophisticated than that in our thinking, preferring a full range of
healthy functionality. And yes, that includes knowing right from wrong, and the ability to show compassion.

Our other real option was a cold calculating criminal with the emotional range of what does it matter now as long as it did not have an effect on her personally.

We knew exactly what we were gonna get with her and enough of America said no thank you we will take a chance on the other guy. (and 1 year is not enough information to judge the guy on)

Well I don't think the average hard working American deserves the # sandwich it has gotten since Reagan. God rest his soul.

If you believe all the absurdities regurgitated from ridiculous conspiracy theories, then you would have a point.
