Can someone reply to this and recite the English lyrics of this song, from Dschinghis Khan from so long ago?

Because I heard it today, and it's different, but rather than worry that I'm mad, hoping someone can either prove my memory is wrong, or validate it. lol

the chorus to be precise.

this old chestnut.

Please please please don't let me now be a victim of mandela

(ps, don't just google it and tell me, tell me what YOU think they were..)

*screams KHAAAANNN*

With all of us Russian trolls here I am sure one of our Comrades will be able to accommodate you.

Unfortunately, my parents left the Motherland before I was born so I never learned.

Never heard this before, and hope I never hear it again....Sorry. BTW, why would we know this song? Its not like it was aired worldwide. I don't recall it being top 40 or anything.

First time I heard this was in Spanish.

DJs use to play it late, by the time everybody was drunk to assure acceptance. I loved to see the drunkest guy trying to do the acrobatic moves. Hahaha..

Well, this was the era of Boney M....with Rasputin etc. Boney M being, African Jamaicans recording in Germany.

Lots of Euro Music in the 70s...ABBA, Harpo, Umberto Totzie, Demis Russos, Nana Muscouri. etc etc.

The Words I remember to Moscow at the time, were....

Mos-cow, Mos-cow, La de da da da da da, Ha ha ha ha ha, Hey.!!!!

Thats what we sang at the time........

You youngins dont know,.......but 1980 was the year that the Olympic were held for the first time in Russia.....at Moscow.

This was a promo song for the Olympics at the time.

Famously boycotted by the USA and other parts of the West.......as per usual.

Im sure the Russians were most insulted by this, but that was the 70s...........

Now we can all......

That I didn't know.

I just remember as a young lad hearing it at my aunts house. It was one of those things, you'd hear it and then it would stick in your head all day.

THIS THIS THIS !!!!! That is exactly what I remember. yet, when I heard it on the radio the other day, it was...

Mos-cow, Mos-cow, throw your glasses at the wall, and good fortune to us all, ho ho ho ho ho, Hey!

Since when??????

Most likely as it was such a jokey song, no one ever sang along with it, and as mentioned above, everyone was too drunk to hear the words anyway. lol.

When I looked up the lyrics, I could not find any version as I remembered it, and even the other version has words where once it was just word filler.

Lol younguns... I'm the greyest youngun I know.

But yep, I think it was during the Olympics now that I think of it. And damn it for it being on the radio lately, made my head spin a little..
