That's because they passed a CR before it affected us.

I was in during that one too.

If they hadn't we wouldn't have received paychecks.

So you're just going to omit the part where he says that for "tonight" that he will dismiss it and discuss it "tomorrow."

Such dishonesty, seriously. No surprise giving the sources used.

I don't see this as a Republican or Democrat issue. This is a broken government process. The process they are using doesn’t arrive at a budget that benefits the majority of the USA. It is heavily slated towrads the agenda of whichever party is in office.

If the elected government officials were truly working in the best interest of US citizens that elected them there wouldn’t be a problem.

Creating a budget isn't rocket science. When you add in all the unique special projects and individual state agendas and special interests - the budget gets unwieldy and nobody can agree on anything.

Maybe they need basic operational budget for day to day operations of the USA and a separate one for all of the “extras”? They might fight initially over what goes into which budget but once that is resolved the whole process would be drastically simplified.

It's hilarious, the illegal aliens will all still get paid, but the dedicated patriotic government servants wont.

Don't you just luv America?

That's not how it works.

Your son is being lied to as is your neighbor.

Maybe you could explain that in greater detail.

You are stating that the military is lying to the OP's son. I sincerely think you owe him an explanation at least.

it won`t last beyond February first, congress knows that their re-election chances will drop to zero if any law abiding tax paying citizens suffer any hardship from their budget games
the one sure thing about politicians is that they care more about getting re-elected than they do about getting their way in congress.

I predict that this will be over by Friday if not sooner, I looked at my local democratic congressmen`s facebook page and he is getting reamed by 90% of the posters.By Wednesday when the democrat congress critters realize how bad they damaged their chances of re-election they will be bending over and accepting any deal the opposition is offering.

I can answer that question from personal experience, no they won`t trust them. what kind of military is it that can`t trust the word of their commander or the word of their country?
I`ll tell you what kind of military, a 3rd world military and we all know how effective 3rd world militaries are in battle.does anyone really believe that the troops will live up to their oath to fight and die for their country when they know that their own government won`t live up to their promise to pay them and take care of them if they should become disabled in battle.

the air force is so desperately short of crew chiefs that they have been grounding flights of planes that tax payers paid millions of dollars to buy,i guess a lot of politicians believe what henry kissenger said, when he said that American military personnel are just animals and so politicians treat them like animals.

The Democrats put forward a bill in congress to fix this. So that military would continue being paid as normal. The Republicans voted against it.

Hopefully the government will reopen before the next military payday, which is Feb 1st.

The first (and hopefully the only) vote to reopen govt will occur no later than 1:00am on Monday morning. (Late Sunday Night.), says Mitch McConnell.

Tell everybody you know the spam Chuck Schumer's twitter account as well as those Senators of both sides who voted down the bill. They are the ones responsible. Fill their voicemails, send them nasty letters, let them know they will not be getting votes if they are from your state.

In the interim, consider recommending they move on base like many thousands of other American servicemen to help out. They are trained to survive intense combat behind enemy lines, surely they can survive a temporary funding hiccup or possibly on a base.

Over a dozen shutdown since 1976, life went on after.

How is Schumer responsible? He had a bipartisian deal that both sides liked. Trump shot it down. He tried to fund the military specifically with a bill, McConnel shut it down.

that`s right the illegal will still get paid by the laws that the same congress critters passed who are now shutting down the government, who do these congress critters really work for? the American people who elected them o r the illegals who can`t even legally vote?
if the congress critters are representing the illegals then who is representing the taxpayers who elected those congress critters? isn`t this just a case of taxation without representation? I thought we fought a war over that crap and won.so why are congress critters who were elected to represent the wishes, interests and well being of tax paying citizens now representing the wishes, interests and well being of non citizens?
isn`t that taxation WITHOUT representation?
it seems that America has come full circle, fighting a war against taxation without representation only to come right back to taxation without representation.

DACA expires in march, the budget expired yesterday do you really need to know any more than that? how do you manage your personal deadlines?

DACA expires in march, the budget expired yesterday do you really need to know any more than that? how do you manage your personal deadlines?do you default on a deadline that expired yesterday in order to try and extend a deadline that doesn`t expire for another 2 months?do you not pay bills that were due yesterday in order to to try and extend the deadline for bills that aren`t due until march?if you say yes then I can`t even be diplomatic and say you are financially irresponsible, I have to say you are financially retarded.

the democrats will approve a budget long before February first because after February first the ebt folks won`t be getting their welfare and foodstamps and they will go ape# against the democrats because it was the democrats that promised them free # in exchange for their votes.
