You want to focus on the borders? Fine, tell your buds to back off the Dreamers and threats of deporting 3.6 million, what I consider, Americans, from the land they grew up and contribute to. From their families.

Agreed...I would actually quite like the border wall. Its important

The ones here that have been registered, going through the process, and ultimately are now Americans should get on the books and taxed like the rest of us. There can be compromise here once people stop being feckless partisans simply for tribe worship.

If there was ever a need to conduct a comprehensive study on Cognitive dissonance this would be the perfect time. It's absolutely jaw breaking what we're seeing before our eyes.

Never in my years of following politics. Never seen this kind of blind support before. Not at this level.

My God.

Trump was the ultimate protest vote.

Nobody voted for Trump because they like Trump.

It was the only way to send a giant middle finger to DC.

I think he's doing fantastic job... Of driving DC crazy.

Protest vote? For some, yes that’s the case but to say nobody voted for him because they like him is a complete lie. His hardcore base loves him so much they call him Daddy, God, and Emperor.

Trump wasn’t just a protest vote, that is for sure.

No one wants to deport the Dreamers, get off your partisan horse!

Obama made an unconstitutional move.

As for border security?

Talk to YOUR party about that since they promote open borders with their sanctuary city bullcrap!

Meh, didn't take long for CNN sycophants to "try" and go on the offensive.

Doesn't work, Trump gets a pass 😁

Next thread.

Sums up conservatives perfectly. Pass the blame onto anyone else but their own party.

Pathetic.

As I have said before, the democrats will never to a DACA deal with Trump.

Period.

It would give Trump a win, Dreamers may end up liking him, and democrats need votes and something to run against in 2018.

So democrats will resist border security, will do everything they can to fight it, in order to foul the DACA deal with Trump.

Tell that to the below member:

And tell that to Trump himself.

Obama made an unconstitutional move.

On what? And Obama hasn't been president for over a year now.

You're losing it bud.

We were so close. So so close DB.

Obama's Dream Act was unconstitutional.

Trump is making it (wanting to make it) constitutional.

I view it as the Dems finally coming to terms with the fact that Trump and the GOP are not serious, ethical negotiators. Trump literally flip flops on every issue depending on who is the last person to make the case on any topic. And the GOP just keeps kicking urgent issues down the field in an attempt to extort concessions. Also, not going to muster a lot of outrage on behalf of the new alt-GOP and their constituents. I never did understand how people who abhor government can get jobs in the government or even bother voting.

I do feel sorry for all the families at risk, the dreamers, the military and common sense moderates. You know, the practical patriots, who just want good government - government that is responsive and proportionate in funding and structure to the size of our populace and the problems we face.

Liar.

Have a source for the dems funding the entire wall project and increased border security as well increasing military spending?

Schumer's own words.

He met with Trump and put it ON THE TABLE.

Schumer OFFERED to make the wall a reality. Give Trump what he wanted so badly.

It's just a matter of logistics, isn't it?

The assets seized through civil forfeiture would grease the wheels quite a bit.

Perhaps what you suggest is a modern version of the "Madagascar Plan".

Hopefully it will never happen and fail like it did the first time.

I never did understand how people who abhor government can get jobs in the government or even bother voting.

There's a trick to that: they don't really abhor government. They consistently run for State, local, and federal positions. They love being appointed to other govt positions. They even love working with govts and specific politicians as contractors, lobbyists, consultants, NGOs, PACs and Super Pacs, etc. All evidence points to the conclusion that they enjoy working for and working with the various governments in our country.

I think they complain and whine about "bad govt" because they want to keep everyone else away from "their" positions & the perks that come with being a cog in the system. Demonize something enough and listeners will steer clear of it. So if there's a goldmine of opportunities, influence, and wealth in govt positions, wouldn't it make sense that people would dissuade competition from those positions? If you stumbled across a deposit of diamonds, would you tell everyone to come there or would you try to keep prying eyes away from it?

I have no problem with granting amnesty, but doing so without securing the border is so ####ing stupid that it makes the Kardashians look smart.

Securing being the operative word...is that a wall? what makes sense to you..my guess is that it's not a wall.

So how? surely not private contractors..Blackwater etc; they have body counts by just driving up the street.

We get hundreds of thousands of people coming through illegally.

We need to do something different than what we've been doing.

More border security
Actual walls
Fines including jail time for people hiring or harboring illegals.

It'd be a start.

The ONLY "Trump rep" at that meeting would have been Trump's chief of staff.

I'll take Schumer's word spoken on the senate floor over a "Trump rep" any day.
