I'm not going to post my intake on this until well into the thread, I want to hear what people here think in the West. Is Russia undermining our Democracy, or is Facebook?

I find it comical that they would pose this question after what happened in 2014. Who are they kidding?

From This:

Facebook Tinkers With Users’ Emotions in News Feed Experiment, Stirring Outcry

To Facebook, we are all lab rats. Facebook routinely adjusts its users’ news feeds — testing out the number of ads they see or the size of photos that appear — often without their knowledge. It is all for the purpose, the company says, of creating a more alluring and useful product.

To This:

Last month, Facebook General Counsel Colin Stretch pledged to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Facebook would “up our game” to counter the “threat of foreign interference in elections.” Committee members grilled Stretch, along with representatives from Twitter and Google, about how platforms were used for “Russian meddling” and shared a sample of the ads it classified as “Russian-linked.”

You didn't post the best part of the article

Panicked about your feed getting hijacked by ‘Russian trolls’? Facebook’s got you covered, with a new tool that will allow users to check if the Kremlin messed with their minds during last year’s US presidential election.

Thank you Facebook for making sure nobody messes with our minds. Wait a minute....

Anyone else see the irony there?

Facebook is mind control, an echo chamber for people to get their daily dopamine fix and put up a facade in place of their true selves. Facebook is nothing more than people telling other people everything "good" about their lives in order to hide their inadequacies in my opinion. It's a haven for fakeness so I find it ironic that Facebook is trying to act like they hate fake news when that's basically their entire platform.

It's impossible to "undermine democracy" by posting things on the internet. That's just a euphemism to disguise their censorship, which undermines democracy.

I'm not sure, apparently it's someplace where twenty somethings hang out and talk about themselves and behave like narcissistic neanderthals who think they matter.

They can only mess with your mind if you let them... facebook is the matrix... life inside a simulation. Unplug my friend. There is a real world outside Facebook.....

I had a Fecesbook account which I haven't been on in about 6 months.
I recently deleted it.
People look at you like you're weird when you tell them you don't have an account.
I don't miss it one bit.
Mostly a waste of time.

Facebook users get their information from msm for the most part?
So it's pretty obvious by now that the media only promotes 'entertainment pieces'...

for those who are actually behind this democracy undermining crap.

Anybody calm enough to hear both sides objectively normally chill at sites and forums like ATS.
The only group of sourpusses trying to undermine the gov are out of touch unamericans.
