Most of N.Korea's neighbors appear concerned over their announcement of creating nuclear weapons. A flurry of talks between neighbors is ensuing. The N.Korean's are demanding unilateral talks and refusing to participate in the planned 6 nation talks. N.Korean credibillity and stature depend on not being ganged up on by allowing multi-lateral talks.

China told Russia on Monday it wanted to restart six-way talks on North Korea's nuclear programmes and still hoped to the Korean Peninsula could be free of nuclear weapons, the official Xinhua news agency said.

South and North Korea, the United States, China, Japan and Russia have met for three rounds of the talks since August 2003.

N.Korea's demands at unilateral talks with the USA are an attempt to gain more "legitimacy" as a nuclear player.

The USA is correct to insist that N.Korea also talk with it's neighbors on this issue as
This aproach by N.Korea seems to ignore the concerns of neighboring states in order to inflate the stature of the country by making it seem as if nations have to cave in to the demands for unilateral talks between N.Korea and the USA.
