Pretty sure everyone understands your stance bud...Twitter storing naked pictures of minors is the parents fault. Got it.

Now re read the OP, slowly, and see why your thoughts on the matter are irrelevant. Or not. But stop spamming the thread, your genius insight has been noted thank you for your service, you are a shining beacon of inspiration for human beings everywhere...

No. Be a PARENT. Involve yourself in your kids lives....

Or, don't. And let them make you yet another lauded victim.

I know which way I'm headed on this, don't think you do.

AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! He said Tech Savvy. Dude, it's insanely easy (Android, or IPhone) to get around ANY security methods you try to put in place short of turning it off; and even that isn't a sure-fire thing. Many free wifi-text apps exist. Try again.

Kids do dumb things, and "parents" allow dumb things to happen.

I don't think 13 year old kids should have smart phones or web cameras. They have no need for facebook, messenger, twitter, instagram or using a web camera. Most of use grew up without these things and frankly I think we were better off. If a phone is a must, an old school flip phone with no texting is just fine. Perhaps they should make a phone just for kids, that is only a phone. This keeps them from sexting, taking/receiving nude pictures. It also keeps them away from a lot of bullying and body shaming issues. Plus they will be forced to learn how to interact and live with other human beings.

Bro please,
put down the keyboard and sleep it off.
This threads op has serious implications.
Your continued off topic comments are nothing but a distraction
To people actually concerned with the issue .

Seriously.

----on topic----

Vasa,
I agree the issue is not how this material got onto there servers, it is a matter of what they choose to do with it..
I'm no computer genius, but I can't see the reason these things would be saved.
The fact that some employees have access to dm's should not surprise anyone,
But perhaps it's my naivety, but I would think there would be a policy in Place to delete these images
Once they are deemed inappropriate...

Smh

Perhaps they were afraid that if they deleted these images from people's D.M.'s the average Joe shmoe users would realize there D.M.'s were being monitored?

Is it? I mean if people know that images get stored on these systems, and that employees do have to have some access to them, then why is it surprising that any dirty pictures taken by anyone wouldn't be included? It really doesn't matter if the person is 8 or 80, the pictures they took of themselves would be accessible on their servers.

I'm wondering what was the real purpose for this story to go out? We already know that these bits of data can get hacked, and that people act dirty from time to time (regardless of age). No there might be another reason for this story to get released, and I'm going to go with my first assertion that it's an attempt to manipulate stock prices. To me it's the only one that makes sense right now.

Let's say it's be to informative, well most people would have already have known this.
Let's say that it's to be disruptive, then why go after the same media that these people use to send and transmit data.

***EDITED BELOW TO SHOW SEPERATION FROM QUOTED COMMENT***

Let's focus on why the report about something that most people already knew (or at least suspected) was created, and not who's the better parent.

I have to say, you are really derailing this thread and I don't know why the mods are letting you do it. You are also being very abusive towards other members, which in of itself, should have you warned multiple times.

This thread is not about what parents are doing, this is about images of children being stored on a server where grown ups are looking at it daily, and bragging about it in public. No matter how the images got there, they are there and laws are being broken. If these kinds of images are found on their servers, and dating back many of months, someone is going to jail for not reporting child abuse and the platform will be shut down.

I believe every person who has looked at images of underage children and has not reported it will be receiving an indictment, which is currently sealed, as to the reason why there are so many sealed in the state of California.

Go look up TheDilly and sites like it that are no longer in existence for the same reasons as twitter and they only had a few hundred users and were around for very shot periods of time.

You keep telling yourself you've got it covered. I knew a lot of pastor's kids growing up. They were always the most "knowledgeable" kids. The pastors thought they had it all covered too. Unless you're Amish, odds are your kids are into a LOT more than you think. This is the technological revolution. Scary scary. Yes, the parents have a responsibility, but the companies do to. They absolutely should not be storing porn, of any kind. If they are, and they probably are, they should be held accountable. If an underage girl that sexts a selfie can be charged with distribution of child pornography, this company should be on the chopping block already.

It's not about being blind.

You can't be there 100% of the time.

Unless you're gonna be creepy and install cameras in their rooms and follow them into the bathroom.

And that's just weird.

Something to keep in mind, your probably right.

On a slightly different note, I think one day our great grandchildren will be able to Google what and where we went searching on the internet, there will be no secrets..... just a thought.

Nah, should have alerted authorities at any sign of child porn. If they have algorithms to identify MEME's and other images, they can identify child porn instantly and report it.

Sorry, quoted wrong post, but you guys get my drift.

I am sure this is just the tip of the iceberg with porn in social media. Unless the FBI or other LE agency is currently involved (and most Twitter employees are not privy to that fact), I can see how storage of potential child porn could mean jail time for more than a few people in the company.

I wonder what the implications of the Twitter employees spilling the beans on the company might be--how they will be affected--and what about them being surrepititiously captured on video without their knowledge? That's what appears to be happening. I know how "reasonable expectation of privacy" applies in a bar, but I'm no attorney, so just tossing that out there.

Thinks are going to get nutty over this.

Hate to say it, but if you're allowing your thirteen year old to use twitter.....

Perhaps your parenting credentials need to be reviewed. Just sayin.

My son was 15 during the election and he had one. I was approached by a “concerned” parent that my son’s Twitter was filled with pro Trump hate. I checked it out. Once I read it and found there was nothing racist on it I slapped him on the back and said “good work” then gave back his phone.

Exaggerating more like. You can see those people had all been talking over drinks, inebriated and exaggerating to shock and impress? It’s hard to say or to even take a video with obvious hit piece editing like this seriously. Any link for a more raw video? I’ve been looking.
