Uh, I don't really need a DR, to tell me what is right there for the world to see.
[Schumer, Pelosi, Feinstein, Waters, Roberts, et. al.], ... are all bat #### CRAZY. I could give you examples, but what is the point.

Ha! Professionals. Bah! Those organizations don't self-police; they self-protect. Goes for any other organizations.
I predict that in the future psychiatrists/psychologists will be a real joke of this society.

Speculating on someone’s mental/physical health is not a diagnosis though, is it?
That can only be done by a person’s actual doctor.
Actually speculation can be done by anyone.
And because a diagnosis is a confirmation of an illness/condition.
Not necessarily.
Any speculation is by definition unconfirmed.
We can talk about the ethics of professionals doing such speculating, and I personally find it out of order when they do.
Unethical, agreed.
Silencing them for it is just way too despotic for my liking.
Doctors have rules, it's actually in their code of ethics.
But good for you for wanting free speech!
This is different for you!

I'm not a Scientologist, but I very often feel that the whole psychiatric treatment industry is borderline useless. Their diagnoses are hopelessly generalized and vague, and the tests they use to reach their diagnoses only capture a snapshot of the mental state of a person. Their treatments are either "talking it out" (which is never meant to actually cure anybody), to medicines like SSRIs that are essentially a trial-and-error crapshoot to see if something works.
If you review the literature, it's a little shocking to see just how little we understand why and how people think the way they do.

APA-calling the kettle black, if you swing left or right that doesn't make you cuckoo.
'Paging Dr. Phil-are you listening?'
'I'm listening Oprah-when is my next paycheck due?'
Sigmund Frauds should be stripped of their titles TBH-the role of the psychiatrist is to provide help, not to misidentify mental illness to benefit drug companies and give their patients medication for false efficacy.
I've had pills thrown at me since I was twelve and after giving them up, i'm not better but more stable. All Psychiatrists are armchair psychiatrists from personal experience, what people need is a psychologist.

Yeah, exactly.
Not necessarily.
In terms of this discussion it absolutely is.
The only time a diagnosis could be considered unconfirmed is with a misdiagnosis.
Even then, mistaken is a better description than unconfirmed.
Even something that is found to be a misdiagnosed was still initially “confirmed” the right conclusion by a patient’s doctor.
A diagnosis however, is not speculation.
It is an official decision followed by a course of action.
Long story short, these people have not been diagnosing Trump.
Unethical, agreed.
Absolutely.
Doctors have rules, it's actually in their code of ethics.
Yeah.
In terms of mental health...
en.m.wikipedia.org...
This is their rule. It is a strongly requested approach.
I do not believe it is forced, but I am sure there are probably some kind of consequences for a disregarding the Rule.
But good for you for wanting free speech!

Dunno really, only thing I don’t believe is free speech is incitement.
Anything beyond that it’s just censorship.

Do you consider a medical diagnosis, "freedom of speech"?
Just curious.
As a big proponent of freedom of speech I would have never considered a diagnosis to be that.
Actually, a medical diagnosis is protected by HIPPA. So it is kind of the opposite of free speech.

Good thread. Glad you posted it. You know, the political left Elites contain the dregs of those who always wanted communism or some type of socialism, and they are trying to get it any which way they can.... because ya know its not really the fault of communism that the Soviet Union failed to produce a successful centrally controlled economy...if only we could just have another crack at it this time it would work(end sarcasm)

Hint: its nowhere near a empirical science - "its" still looking for that magical chemical imbalance.
The scientologists showed some very good studies, unfortunately they use reverse tactics to ensnare.
They go so far as buying out "cult awareness network" to control information. LOL
