NORMALLY this kind of thing would be a "career ender"... BUT, no one is going to change their opinion of Trump over this...

A lawyer for President Donald Trump arranged a $130,000 payment to a former adult-film star a month before the 2016 election as part of an agreement that precluded her from publicly discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.

Michael Cohen, who spent nearly a decade as a top attorney at the Trump Organization, arranged payment to the woman, Stephanie Clifford, in October 2016 after her lawyer negotiated the nondisclosure agreement with Mr. Cohen, these people said.

I WONDER if it will come out that the $130,000 was PAID from Trump's "charity"? We KNOW he's used it for funding legal expenses before. And this WAS a month before the election, after all...

It's appears to be VERY "hush-hush" too...

The payment was made to Ms. Clifford through her lawyer in the matter, Keith Davidson, with funds sent to Mr. Davidson’s client-trust account at City National Bank in Los Angeles, according to the people.

“I previously represented Ms. Daniels,” Mr. Davidson said, referring to Ms. Clifford’s stage name. “Attorney-client privilege prohibits me from commenting on my clients’ legal matters.”

A spokeswoman for City National Bank declined to comment.

Trumps lawyer is firing back though!

Mr. Cohen added in the statement, addressed to The Wall Street Journal: “This is now the second time that you are raising outlandish allegations against my client. You have attempted to perpetuate this false narrative for over a year; a narrative that has been consistently denied by all parties since at least 2011.”

WSJ

I find it a bit odd that a "high power attorney" like Cohen HASN'T filed a libel lawsuit then....?

HMMMM?

It MUST be a conspiracy, with Murdoch's WSJ in on the act! Murdoch could have killed this WSJ story..but DIDN'T...why?

Cohen sent the paper a statement signed by “Stormy Daniels” denying the sexual encounter with Trump and saying that hush money rumors are “completely false.”

So when, where and how are we to believe any side of this story?

If a settlement has been reached and the lawyers were good then all parties can deny everything and the party that got the settlement will be legally bound to deny it, but if what is printed isn't true then any lawyer worth a hoot wouldn't be sending complaint letters and would be filing a libel case(especially Trumps).

Political gossip, especially considering this was Pre-election. I'd imagine tying up loose ends that would otherwise be used by opponets for nefarious reasons.

If you think charity funds were used, then research it and come back to us, that would be a much more engaging topic, this? come on man. Mad props if he scored a pornstar.

Just because someone is a lawyer doesn't mean they are not screwed up in the head. So, maybe Trump had an affair and paid to keep it quite, not the lawyer starts to say some crap which makes his client's financial security be challenged, her money could be taken away and also her lawyers cut. I thought there were rules lawyers had to follow after settling a case which include confidentiality to both parties involved.. I think this lawyer should be disbarred. Are lawyers going to start blackmailing everyone or turning in everyone their clients made a settlement with now? I think maybe we should take a good look at the laws governing our lawyers and judicial system. It seems that our legal system is starting to get severely messed up, nobody is ever going to make a settlement if lawyers start doing this kind of stuff, lawyers will be the new homeless people.

Would it surprise me if this was true? No.

Trump is doing exactly what he is meant to do.

Piss people off. Piss the government off. Piss the world off.

It is my hope that our government learns the important lesson of not pissing off the people, because next time we will not elect such a nice guy for them to deal with.

Accepting this as genuine...

He cheated on Melania.

While I’ve no respect for adulterous people...
This is a private matter for them.

How is this gossip any good for ATS?

The woman that was supposedly paid hush money has already spoke out and said this is BS. It's fake news.

I'll say what I did when the pee tapes were being teased to us. I wouldn't hold it against him in the slightest. Because getting Russian sex workers to pee on him or paying a sex worker for what they are paid to do are all things I fully condone.

But it's the hypocrisy of the base supporting him that baffles me. Honestly, if this were Bernie or Dr. Jill, I wouldn't care. Because they aren't pushing a persona of wholesome bible belt sexual oppression.

But... when somebody is being endorsed (ironically) by churches all across the nation, though... yeah, I'm gonna be wanting this rubbed in some faces.

If only Trump just came out as the Biff Tannen he truly is, I may have actually cheered his second-place victory for president.

Im sure there would be a non disclosure agreement, so it could very well be true.

That’s what happens when you get paid hush money

It’s odd that Trump’s personal lawyer had the statement from Stormy Daniels.

Does he represent her too?

So, signing an NDA means you can talk about it? Because this girl did. She says it's false. So who's lying?

I can guarantee you that Donald did not cheat on Melania while he was in the White House, unlike other, ahem, residents.

He's been too busy tweeting.

And we know that a billionaire makes money to enjoy all that life has to offer, which is probably a lot more than Russian golden showers.

So, it's no surprise that money flows from Trump to all sorts of women.

I think in most cases a denial would satisfy a NDA's requirments, a denial would be better than "no comment" if a person was asked.
