Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. David Perdue (GA) who was in the immigration policy meeting with a bipartisan group of lawmakers when President Donald Trump allegedly used the word “#hole” to refer to Haiti, and El Salvador and African nations, said Trump did not make that comment.

Perdue said, “The gross misrepresentation was that language was used in there that was not used and also that the tone of that meeting was not contributory and not constructive.”

He added, “I’m telling you he did not use that word, George. And I’m telling you it’s a gross misrepresentation. How many times do you want me to say that?”

President uses an adjective and people are losing their minds.

so tell him to try and act presidential, and not like some foul mouthed 10 year old....and you defending him means you likes the way he talks down to people, insults them......he conned all of you into voting for him, and you don't have the guts to admit it, just like the evangelical Christians that support him.....I've got more "god" in me than all of them put together

I think it's hilarious people actually think he didn't say this. It's how he talks. Why would multiple people lie about this? It's his attitude.. how he thinks, how he talks.. he is your hero, embrace and accept it. He wants white immigrants.. not "colored" immigrants. Pretty clear.. and clear where his mindset it.

When oprah said "...old white people need to die" it didn't cause as much of a stir as Trump saying we don't need more people from #-hole countries like Haiti.

Snopes denied oprah's statement as racist because she didn't say "all old white people need to die". Apparently, according to snopes, if you are black it is not racist to say "some old white people need to die." This explanation is ludicrous when you consider that oprah made a direct comparison to apartheid South Africa - which was an all white government implementing forced segregation. But somehow oprah's statement is not racist.

If that is true, then isn't it also not racist to say some countries are #-holes without making any reference to race, especially when its the truth?

I wonder how many liberals are willing to devote the same amount of energy they expend attacking Trump to making sure people know oprah is a racist bigot if she tries to run for POTUS.

Except she didn't say that she said old racist need to die off ...stop that!

And there’s a whole generation — I said this for apartheid South Africa, I said this for my own community in the South — there are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die

But the statement seems to be a good way to summarize the state if affairs in the nations discussed. Its not gratuitous. And isnt a personal attack on someone in the room.

We are a nation of immigrants. We descend from immigrants.
Anyone not offended had no business being in that room or the Senate or House.

well the problem here is those people are not legally doing it. spare me that lie. they are invaders.

He was referring to legal immigration when he made the comment.

Durbin was a heavy Hillary backer. explaisn that one. also he has been caught lying numerous times over th eyears.
Lindsey is a former presidential canidate. explains that one. So does th erest of those canidates who have spoke out.

So since we cant believe them and we have 2 republicans who deny he said that we shall chalk it up to hearsay with no proof.

one of the problems with our country is the over sensationalized and emotion based reporting we get from the news outlets.

i'd prefer instead if our media would stick to facts and compare those facts to policy and law. news outlets should make it clear when a piece of reporting is an opinion piece. i can't count how many times someone has come to me citing an opinion piece as fact.

throw in the social media effect and a hashtag army to the mix and you got a messy u.s. political snapshot.

Amazing...seems it is the Gang of Six who thought they had a deal are the ones who all agree with what was said...sounds to me like it was a nice meeting and some people did not get what they wanted. Who is acting like the child? The one who
plays the race card or the one calling them out for their bull#.

I read the snopes article, and it is a bunch of crap. She did not use the words "white people" but NO ONE can dispute the fact that she meant white people, not even teh snopes article you are referencing. As I indicated in my post, snopes determined that her statement was not racist because

Winfrey’s remarks weren’t specifically targeted at white people. She did not say “All old white people have to die,” or “White older people have to die,” or any other fabricated, race-based version of her actual remarks. In fact, she never uttered the phrase “white people” at all.

She did however make a direct comparison to apartheid south africa - all white - and it is clearly in proper context that she was referring to white people in her statement.

If the proper context of her statement indicated white people but is excused by the fact that she did not use the actual words "white people" why is Trump being called a racist bigot for his statement about Haiti when he made no reference to race at all?

Because they have a kick assed socialists system, actually think nothing of paying taxes for the social benefits to all of it's citizens , I'm thinking we at least import some of their politicians and ideas.

Everyone uses profanity to some degree. Just because the POTUS had a slip of the tongue is no reason for anyone to condemn him. Like everyone, he is human. Unless you're are true CT --and believe he is Reptilian.
