You cant really blame them, but you have to question the wisdom of bringing people here who are going to depend on us for a long time if not forever when arriving.
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Really? That’s all you got?
“First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same…
Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset… Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia…
In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think… The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”

Fabulous to see a leader speaking the truth out loud.
Great to see democrats exposing their slimy nature by running to the press to tell.

Maybe Donald Trump should just knock down the Statue, as an out dated and outmoded symbol of a bygone era.

So your argument is that a poem should set immigration policy? A poem that was written after we received said statue, and was added to the podium 20 years after the statue was built?
Really?
The poem has nothing to do with the actual intended meaning of the statue.
