And the one detail you seem to think is relevant is "information from someone inside the white house".
That's the extent of the detail...
Not who.
Not what they said. Only that it corroborates what he told them. He can extrapolate what this inside source told them based on that but that's not them telling Steele what this source told them.

Who knows you may have a case.. but it's very flimsy.

Seems the Fusiongps guy talked himself into a perjury scenario and the left apparently, but not surprisingly, distorted the facts - again.

10 Takeaways From Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS Senate Testimony

In his testimony, Simpson didn’t answer or carefully answered questions covering areas where he’s legally vulnerable while also defending the dossier product he commissioned. Here are key takeaways.

1. The Most Interesting Part Turned Out Not To Be True
There was no inside source in the TRump campaign. The person they are referring to was the Australian diplomat and of course that came out after the dossier blew up in Democrats / Clinton / FusionGPS faces.

2. The Substance Of The Dossier Was Not Verified By Fusion GPS
No shock here. Even today it is still debunked yet the left has deluded itself into thinking its not.

3. The Impetus For Going to the FBI Turned Out To Be Disinformation Or Misinformation

Another interesting tidbit from Simpson is that Steele contacted the FBI because of his belief that Russians had a compromising tape of Trump in a hotel room, referring to the dossier’s allegation that Trump had prostitutes urinate on a bed that President and Michelle Obama had slept on in the Ritz Carleton in Moscow. Amazingly, Simpson reveals this shortly after saying that Steele is a professional at knowing when he’s getting disinformation from a source. But not only is there no evidence that Russians have such a tape, or that such a tape would have any value against known perv Trump in any case, there’s substantial evidence that Steele was the victim of misinformation at best, if not disinformation.

Of course... They needed a way to undermine this President by trying to arrange a coup using lies. So Clinton / DNC / FBI funded the dossier only to have FusionGPS turn around and use the dossier while lying about the info in it and their collaboration with it.

4. The Dossier Author Was In a Relationship With The FBI

This has already been reported extensively, but Steele was sharing information with the FBI. As mentioned above, he immediately took the fantastical sex scene from his first dispatch to the FBI. Simpson details how that happened, asserting over and over that he had nothing to do with going to the FBI with the opposition research he was commissioned to produce for Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. He says that Steele said of the FBI, “they want everything I have.”
Yeah no conflict of interest here. Why would the FBI share information with a person who is bringing them the information? The one possible answer is the FBI gave info to Steele so he could then incorporate the info into his dossier and then turn it back over to the FBI who could then claim Steele's info corroborates the FBI info.

5. Russia Is Either Good Or Bad, Depending
An interesting view to be sure and the answer depends on your political allegiance / hatred of Trump and the Trump derangement syndrome of the left who thinks it is acceptable to destroy the country because they lost an election they rigged and wasted $1.2 billion dollars, violated numerous federal / FEC laws all for Clinton.

6. Despite Knowing Everyone At Trump Tower Meeting, Claims No Knowledge

In his testimony, Simpson says he had no idea that Veselnitskaya was going to meet with Trump, despite meeting with her both shortly before and shortly after the meeting. He tells investigators that some of Paul Manafort’s notes from the meeting “touch on things that I worked on” on behalf of Prevezon, but that he didn’t realize she was going to talk about it with them. And he acknowledges that he either worked with or knows of four attendees at the meeting: Irakle Kaveladze, Veselnitskaya, Rinat Akhmetshin, and Anatoli Samochornov. The last one also worked on the Prevezon case.
Yeah nothing suspicious here at all...

7. Simpson Misleads About Democratic Ties

In the lengthy testimony, Simpson skates in and out of privilege to share the content of the research he works on for clients. But when asked for specifics, or about the marketing of his work, he frequently declined to answer questions. He declined to answer dozens of questions, such as “Did you share that decision with anyone, that [Steele] was going to go to the FBI with this information?” and “Did Fusion disclose hard copies of the memoranda to any journalists?” and “Did Mr. Steele ever share with you who his sources were?”
Again not a shock they would lie about this. It seems to be the name of the game since Trump became the Republican nominee.

8. Fusion Pushed Dossier During Campaign
Yup - setting up 2 meetings with various media outlets to push them to push the dossier trump russia bs. Since the federal court told FusionGPS they have to turn over their finance statements I would say we will know which media outlets were complicit in this fraud.

9. Journalistic Retaliation

Simpson says he was deeply concerned by FBI Director James Comey’s letter announcing a reopening of the investigation into Clinton’s mishandling of classified information. He says he had been asking reporters or encouraging reporters to ask the FBI about whether they were investigating Trump’s ties to Russia. It backfired.

On October 31, The New York Times published its report saying the FBI had found no problematic ties between Trump and Russia. “[I]t was a real Halloween special,” he said. Court filings say Steele briefed a reporter from Mother Jones on the contents of the dossier in late October. Late in the evening of October 31, David Corn published a piece at Mother Jones titled: “A Veteran Spy Has Given the FBI Information Alleging a Russian Operation to Cultivate Donald Trump: Has the bureau investigated this material?”

Simpson also says Steele severed his relationship with the FBI at that point, “out of concern that he didn’t know what was happening inside the FBI and there was a concern that the FBI was being manipulated for political ends by the Trump people and that we didn’t really understand what was going on.”

He also says Steele told him the FBI “mentioned that they didn’t like media coverage, that there was media coverage of, you know, FBI interest in Donald Trump. I don’t know what it was that they didn’t like.”

Translation - Clinton broke the law and got caught and the FBI / FusionGPS / DNC / Clinton camp did all they could to change the narrative to TRump. Just as we are seeing every day with the media.

10. What Was Feinstein Thinking?
A desperate attempt to try and selvage the Russia narrative while they put the mental health bs back on deck since the russia narrative is done and they need a fall back. I believe it was also done to give potential witnesses / suspects advanced notice of the lie being told so the left can all get their stories straight.

A request was sent to Speaker Paul Ryan to declassify everything related to this mess to get the truth out. I would have to agree with that request as its apparently the only way to expose the left, once and for all, of the attempted coup they are engaged in.

At this point why is no one just taking Steele at his word?
www.washingtontimes.com...

Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote the infamous anti-Donald Trump dossier, acknowledges that a sensational charge his sources made about a tech company CEO and Democratic Party hacking is unverified.

The fact that Mr. Steele acknowledges that he put unverified “raw intelligence” into his December memo casts further doubt on his research techniques for the entire 35-page dossier.

That and the fbi walked away from him and did not pay him the 50k discussed.

Why anyone listens to Feinstein is beyond me. Probably one of the worst senators we have. Liberal in name only this woman spends a large part of her time trying to erode our civil liberties rather than protect them like a true liberal.

Anything from her should be looked at with much skepticism... Much like anything from the op.

10 Takeaways From Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS Senate Testimony

In his testimony, Simpson didn’t answer or carefully answered questions covering areas where he’s legally vulnerable while also defending the dossier product he commissioned. Here are key takeaways.

So - if the left (FusionGPS / FBI / DNC / Clinton camp / Steele) did nothing wrong and everything in the dossier is verified as fact why then are they stonewalling at every twist and turn? Why are people invoking their 5th amendment if they broke no laws and did nothing wrong?

While I am a steadfast believer in innocent until proven guilty I have to question the motives of the people involved and must ask why they are blocking / invoking their rights.

Also on the off chance people are not familiar. Under US law your 5th amendment right is absolute in criminal cases. In a criminal proceeding a person can invoke their 5th amendment right and the jury is instructed that they cannot infer anything from that invocation - IE invoking the 5th does not and cannot be taken as a sign of guilt.

However in civil cases it is not absolute. A person can invoke their 5th amendment right however a judge can in fact order the person to answer the question, even after invoking it. Also at the end the jury can be allowed to infer guilt from a persons refusal to answer questions.

On the off chance some people might be confused as to why civil cases are being filed by certain individuals.

Considering she is the one who unilaterally released the 300 pages of testimony she is involved now.

Let me ask -
If the left justifies the release of the testimony as needing transparency why would the same people on the left oppose a request to release all information related to the collusion investigation thus far?

You cant have selective transparency. Selective transparency is nothing more than cherry picking info that supports your narrative while hiding the info that doesnt.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein made arrangements in July 2017 for Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson to testify before their committee. It was agreed that Simpson would not testify in public but would be interviewed privately.[37][38]

en.wikipedia.org...

If Feinstein was interested in the public knowing the truth.

The committee hearing would have been public.

No.

What the eff do we get instead.

A work of fiction that no one can even verify.

Good point.

Don’t worry Feinstein will verify it for us, we can trust her.

I find it interesting how she unilaterally was able to release this...and did so at the behest of Fusions request. Is this within her right to do?

Is it cherry picked?

Yes it was.

As was Simpsons testimony. Selectively invoking your 5th amendment is problematic.

I get the feeling that Feinstein's illegal action will trigger additional pre-mature releases of evidence from various investigations.

Ah...but Donald Trump's requests carry weight. If he asks for her action to be looked into for illegality, it will be.

Although, I don't think he will, because there is evidence related Hillary being released/leaked prematurely this week.

You make a lousy shill. Your very first point is so wrong as to be ludicrous.

1. The Most Interesting Part Turned Out Not To Be True There was no inside source in the TRump campaign. The person they are referring to was the Australian diplomat and of course that came out after the dossier blew up in Democrats / Clinton / FusionGPS faces.

The Australian Diplomat's name is Alexander Downer. Downer got his information about Russia having hacked Clinton emails from PAPADOPOLOUS, absolutely a Trump Campaign insider. Do you think Downer just made it up out of thin air? No, Papadopolous couldn't keep from bragging about it, Downer did his job and informed the Australian Government which determined the various treaties between Australia and the US, not to mention keeping on good relations, required them to inform the US.

Everybody did their job and the source was positively a Trump Campaign insider.

There is so much shilling, spinning, and truth bending in your very first argument point as to render the rest of your screed unreadable.

If you had any integrity at all, you really should return the check.
