In her remarks, Ms. Haley said that the United States would remain steadfastly behind the Iranian protesters.

“Let there be no doubt whatsoever,” she said, “the United States stands unapologetically with those in Iran who seek freedom for themselves.”

The Russian ambassador, Vasily A. Nebenzya, was more blunt. He asked rhetorically why the Security Council had not taken up the issue of Black Lives Matter protests in Ferguson, Mo., which were at times also met with a violent police response.

This is certainly not the first time the Russians made political clap back at the U.S using the U.S own domestic failings not even the first time Black livesMatter used as a cudgel to hit American foreign policy over the head with.

It's hard to talk about rights of foreigners in other nations while having issues on one's home turf with one's own citizens, looking at it from the outside seemed like hypocrisy.
And it justify the abuse of foreign governments of their own people because we lost the moral high ground, unless what we are really talking about is political theater without substance.

LOL Russia picks the Ferguson event, the birth of, and ironic antithesis of the BLM movement.

I heard Russia also spent $100,000 on facebook ads and won Trump the presidency. Those pesky russians.

Actually BLM came about after the Trayvon Martin.

But yes Russians do use the U.S domestic issue to further their own agendas..they gaslight the American public with not much cost in dollars.

This has always been one of the main problems of US policy: we like to play police and moral advisor to the world but we're often turning a blind eye to what's happening here. We've been called on it many times in the past, and often over our treatment of minorities and Native Americans.

We really need to set examples - like de-militarizing cops and firefighters.

Black Lives matter had a super peaceful march here in Dallas about 2 years ago...

It was SUPER PEACEFUL [except for the five murdered police officers]

Again, other than the innocent slaughter of FIVE police officers, it was the most peaceful, rainbow, sunshine, bubble gum perfect march in history...

Would be great if we could make the moral high ground real.
We see dead or bleeding bodies on the streets in foreign nations and rightfully cringes, when we called that into question, they showed us clips of our own streets.

BLM-Ferguson was an Obama-era phenomenon. Iran Freedom Marchers is 2017-2018, with a new U.S. President.

I think Russia has a hard time comprehending how our leadership system changes every few years. They keep the same people for decades.

Do you know the differences in the freedoms that the Iranian people and the BLM movement are fighting for? You should look them up.

It's hard to talk about rights of foreigners in other nations while having issues on one's home turf with one's own citizens, looking at it from the outside seemed like hypocrisy.

The difference is that one of them is a very small percentage of the population while the other is a much larger percentage of the population.

And it justify the abuse of foreign governments of their own people because we lost the moral high ground, unless what we are really talking about is political theater without substance.

One loses moral high ground by saying they support an entire population who wants changes in their government? Hardly. That seems to be a communistic tool for separation.

We need to stop trying to be the moral authority around the world and leave people the hell alone. I am so sick of U.S. policies that put time, effort and money into other countries when we need those resources right here at home.

Well, BLM is a terrorist organization and the Iranian people are fighting for their freedom from an oppressive theocracy so they aren't really the same thing. I won't be supporting BLM or any other terrorists foreign or domestic.

Black Lives Matter should be in the same category as Antifa and the KKK.

Ummm, what "Freedom" problem do they have in Iran?

Perhaps people should watch the videos presented in another thread today, of what Iran is Actually like.

One Iranian even quoted that friends of his that moved to the USA, have Less freedom than people do in Iran.....

I can actually believe that.

The West gets its own version of "the Non West" thru filtered media releases, designed to distort the truth, and show Everyone else as the "Bad Guys".

Unfortunately, in the past 50 years or so....it seems the "West" are the bad guys.....everything for the ultimate $$.

Perhaps Americans should just go to these countries and see for themselves, or at least videos of people who have actually been there, instead of armchair viewing.

Never trust politicians.

Can you show me if they are actually classed as a terrorist movement or is it just your own prejudices that steared you to that conclusion?.
