The problem is those two have exactly the same personalities and they both think they are right and the other is wrong. Kimmy is wrong, obviously his button is smaller (but is actually red - we all know Trump's button will be gold-plated). But in Kim's mind he is "the best". And in Trump's mind he is "the best".
What happens when an immovable object and an unstoppable force comes face to face?
Either one of these two can "push the button" just out of spite - their egos won't let them back off.
Somewhere, someone is going to end up splattered like split pea soup on the floor if it escalates.

I sincerely hope it stays with chest thumping and grunts.

The alternative is that Trump actually read the Art of War and is playing focusing on illusion and reality. Knowing Trump though, he would've told everyone if he read a book.
More realistically they're just two 5-year-olds playing the "my Dad is stronger" game...

In all seriousness though, would someone that knew and experienced the atrocities of war make light of such a topic? Is there a point where the topic should be taken a bit more seriously by Trump?

A well known tactic is to accuse, as "where there's smoke, there's fire" It's becoming a old cheap-shot and Americans are not so easily misled any more. What if the author was accused of child pornography or pedophilia ? Annie Karni, the author of the article.....

Same same, where there's smoke, there's fire......... see how that works....

Soon you will see just how intelligent he is. He has the majority of the alphabet/intel agencies/deep state/shadow gov after him, trying to find a way to be rid of him.

He is still there and still standing!

That says it all..

The last few days have brought forth questions about the president's mental state. Rumours of dementia, and the fear that he is unravelling has sparked some speculation. His spectacularly unhinged tweet about his 'big nuclear button' is just the latest in a series of incidents leaving many wondering just what is going on inside the mind of Donald Trump.

www.politico.eu...

Lawmakers concerned about President Donald Trump’s mental state summoned Yale University psychiatry professor Dr. Bandy X. Lee to Capitol Hill last month for two days of briefings about his recent behavior.

In private meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress held on December 5 and 6, Lee briefed lawmakers — all Democrats except for one Republican senator, whom Lee declined to identify. Her professional warning to Capitol Hill: “He’s going to unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”

No, not just partisan shots either. Getting the tax bill through seemed to stabilize the ship temporarily, but it seems the alarms have been raised again.

“The tendency was anti-alarmism among Republicans,” said Bill Kristol, editor at large of The Weekly Standard and one of Washington’s leading conservative voices.

That made Trump’s sudden fit of saber-rattling “more jolting,” according to Kristol — and it reopened the national conversation about the president’s mental stability. “I was focused on Iran, and talking to people in the administration about serious policy,” Kristol added, “and then to see in the middle of what might be a serious policymaking process, Trump’s just flipping out.”

On Wednesday, Kristol tweeted: “I trust @VP has asked his Counsel to prepare a draft document transferring power in accord with Sec. 4 of 25th Amendment in case it’s suddenly needed, & that he’s discussed this with COS Kelly.”

Over at The Atlantic, another article also questioning the state of Trump's mind.

www.theatlantic.com...

Trump’s grandiosity and impulsivity has made him a constant subject of speculation among those concerned with his mental health. But after more than a year of talking to doctors and researchers about whether and how the cognitive sciences could offer a lens to explain Trump’s behavior, I’ve come to believe there should be a role for professional evaluation beyond speculating from afar.

I’m not alone. Viewers of Trump’s recent speeches have begun noticing minor abnormalities in his movements. In November, he used his free hand to steady a small Fiji bottle as he brought it to his mouth. Onlookers described the movement as “awkward” and made jokes about hand size. Some called out Trump for doing the exact thing he had mocked Senator Marco Rubio for during the presidential primary—conspicuously drinking water during a speech.

Nonsense...Everyone knows there's nothing wrong with Trump...Just another attempt by the communists to get rid of Trump...

Here's the deal, President Trump is not a career Politian and doesn't kiss @ss. He is going to say what he wants to. He said going into politics that PC was out the window. I for one appreciate his style, its no nonsense politics. He has done so much for this country. If you think about it, if were to continue down the same road the Democrats were taking all of us we all would be looking for jobs and being taken by the establishment on a daily basis.

No body wants to be cruel and mock the sick.

I don’t like hearing people mock Trumps possible mental problems, but there is enough here to cause for worry.

Sure I call him names but not in the spirit of marginalizing the possible illness of his psyche.

But what can we do , its out of our hands. The people near him have to have him checked out or do the 25th amendment if they know something we don’t know.

In my little psychoanalytical training, I recall something known as the ego ideal, a Sigmund Freud and Karen Horney concept…

This involves a neurotic state where the person has a false ideal of their greatness, stemming from youthful inadequacy. Indeed, they grow up idealizing a false image of themselves.

Trump may have issues like this, not necessarily a extreme psychosis, but certainly a problematic issue for a president with his hands on the button.

We do not know what the mental health of the President happens to be. And as much as we can speculate, the reality is this:

For there to be a diagnosis of any kind, it would require a full medical work up of the President, a full physical, and then a full psych test, and followed by a neurologist to look at the brain. And only they would be able to say one way or the other what all is going on.

But that is in the hands of the federal government and the doctors that are there to try to keep him healthy.

Except that Hillary gave no cause for concern regarding mental agility. Ever...

You're wrong. Again.

Funniest part of this thread is the people that defended Hillary when people were posting all the videos about weird things she did and all the stuff people used to say she was physically or mentally unfit. They said you can't make that determination from outside observations...those same people are here...pushing this as hard as they can. I am glad though...it helps me figure out who to take seriously around here and who to watch for entertainment...

He's got to have a "looking glass" future time viewing capability. Then he comes around us simple folk and trolls us all into either changing or fulfilling what he saw. The bizarre things he says that always, always, always eventually comes true is scary. The sometimes goofy and outrageous WAY he says them is the cover for his time viewing capabilities.

Problem is you liberals, never have constructive things to say,try to make speculations, you end up making yourself look redundant, just because you don't like someone, don't try to pretend you have any intelligent thing to add other then a half assed opinion

Liberals (especially the hyperventilating ones on ATS) rarely have anything intelligent to add. Liberals have turned "news" into nothing but op eds because they never have any facts to back an argument and because they have been suppressed for so long by those more powerful physically and mentally their only recourse was to turn our society into a litigious one. Whine and sue, whine and sue, whine and sue.

I don't feel sorry for the whiny, butt-hurt liberals. They deserve every bit of the pit of despair they dug for themselves. Even though they will attempt to blame it on others. Liberals live a viscous cycle in their desperate and truncated lives. Always pointing the finger at others and never taking responsibility for their actions. Truly a pathetic group of people.

2020 will be another solid victory for Trump because the only people on the Democratic side are the weak minded who cannot handle the reality of Trump as president for the first term. The Democrats have to work off talking points and the nimble Republican campaign of Trump will out think and out strategize them. Already they are giving Trump the campaign commercials he needs. The Chicago Democratic govt. is calling for the UN to occupy their violent city. They can't even handle one city in this country.

The following ramble is one of the saddest I've seen come from the mouth of a POTUS..

People want the border wall. My base definitely wants the border wall, my base really wants it—you’ve been to many of the rallies. Okay, the thing they want more than anything is the wall. My base, which is a big base; I think my base is 45 percent. You know, it’s funny. The Democrats, they have a big advantage in the Electoral College. Big, big, big advantage ... The Electoral College is very difficult for a Republican to win, and I will tell you, the people want to see it. They want to see the wall.

Try to justify it however you like. I can sum it up in one word: pathetic

No. A president who places America above all? Perfectly sane.

Maybe soon I’ll stop paying $2.5 for gas and pay sub .50¢ prices like the Saudi’s...

Do you think a Prez determines the price of oil on the world market? Good luck with that one unless you want to live in a monarchy like Saudi.

Oil is a commodity market and prices are determined by supply and demand which a President cannot control. Unless you are one of those that believe all US oil goes to Americans. There are many kinds of oil and it all needs refined. The US buys most of their oil from Canada.
