NEWS: Cruise Liner With 776 People In Distress

A cruiseship with 480 passengers and 296 crew is in serious trouble the Mediterranean. Heavy sea smashed the windows on the bridge and knocked out the electronics. The ship is taking in water and was adrift for about 4 hours. "The Voyager" eventually managed to get 2 of its 4 engines started and is expected to arrive Cagliari in Sardinia tomorrow morning.



Loosing engine power in a storm means trouble. French coastguard say there is no risk that the ship might sink, I hope they are right. The Voyager is now being escorted by the liquid gas tanker Gimi.

I think a little while ago on Skynews TV they said that the ship had regained power...

Though there site has not updated that info, So dont quote me on that just yet,

How high is the bridge? 3, 4 stories above the waterline? At that leve enough water mass to shatter the thick windows, and deluge electronics?

You might want to add another 14 or 14 stories; The Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships afloat.

You have roughly five decks above the water line with several decks above the hull.

You are calling it the Olympia Voyager the Orignal author called it the Voyager. All news stories are calling it the voyager so it is possible we both have the wrong ship. I was referring to the Voyage of the Seas. According to them it is the largest ship, however the ship in question only has approx 750 on aboard where as the one I am talking about would have upwords of 3,000 on board, big differance in size.
