There can be more than just one reason to go to war. Why
people insist on there being just one reason - WMD or the
lack of WMD - is strange.

I have given this example on other threads, so I'll do it again
for you. Go back to the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln. The
primary reason he went to war was to hold the union together.
THAT was the primary and initial reason for going to war. Once
everything was in motion, freedom for the slaves became the
battle cry. THAT is what caught on as the primary reason, even
thought he original one was to keep the union in tact. Reasons
shift. But what ever the reasoning ... look at the blogs ...
the Iraqis are free, they are happy, the terrorists have one less
stronghold and have been dealt a blow.

FlyersFan, you crack me up!! I see you driving one of those 4X4's that's painted the colors of the American flag and is jacked up about 10 feet off the ground with those gigantic wheels, just running over everybody that even dares to question U.S. policy. Ignorance truly is bliss.

I'm no Civil War expert, but I'm sure there are some on here and they might disagree with your take. I thought Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery and the South didn't because of the hardships that would befall them and their industries that were dependent on slave labor. So they then seceded from the Union and Lincoln said something like"hell no, I'm gonna keep this Union together if it's the last thing I do". At least I think it went something like that.

Peace

I'm a BIG Lincoln fan. I've got tons and tons
of books here about him, as well as a book
full of his own writings. He was always against
slavery but the primary reason he went to war
was to keep the union together. The battle cry
to free the slaves was a secondary reason.
Lincoln himself said that if he had to leave the
slaves in slavery just to keep the union together,
he would. However, he managed to do both ..
keep the union together AND free the slaves.

An apology contained within the same sentence as an insult is not an apology.

I do not accept your false apology, and am not interested in more of the same.

Feel free to direct both your lies and insults to someone other than myself.

I agree, its great them having the freedom of speech.

Ive gotten on ICQ many a times at work and talked to dozens of iraqi's.
Asking them whast happening ni their town, there opinions,

I am yet to speak to one that is UNHAPPY the yanks came in, and threw out saddam.

They all agree it had to happen.

Im even helping a few with visa's and so forth into Australia.

Even in Iran many people there respect and like the US... although israel is a word that immediatley changed their mood.

Does anyone know whats happening with Baghdad burning?
Its just stopped for some reason.

They were really intersting
