"Deep State" is a codeword hotly traded by conservative US conspiracy theorists.
It refers to the "state in the state" - a term by which autocratic regimes brand internal rivals as enemies of the state.
(quoted and translated from here (biggest online-news in Germany)

You may rant against this all you want.
But the core is: do you want to see yourself living under an autocratic regime?

If not, stop using "deep state".

They are just internal rivals to Trump, and he plays you like a fiddle.

Are you saying to not investigate "The Deep State" because if they are dismantled it could be replaced with a worse system??

You're from Germany...Hows that Merkel going for you?

How about "shadow government"?
Is that more to your liking or does that not exist as well?
I suggest you look up continuity of government and declarations of National emergency.
It started with 9/11 and has been renewed every 2 years since by the sitting President.

It is simply code for the civilian administration. The bureaucrats, not the politicians or their staff.

The people who work for the government as employees.

No,

It refers to politically appointed beaurocrats and top ranking GS/SES employees in high levels of Govt. That cannot be easily removed from their positions.

They can essentially make laws in their respective Depts. by writing policy. (think EPA, BLM, education)

They use their positions to enact agendas that benefit political parties, business and/or special interest groups to the detriment of the American people.

Nice try with your BS. Why don't you stick to Europe instead of opening your mouth about stuff you either clearly know nothing about or are you also trying to push an agenda?....

the term deep state is used by both sides of the fence. The deep state was once called the shadow government and was a conspiracy theory for years. Whats scary now is both sides openly recognise that there is a deep state. Meaning there is actors behind the scene who control what is going on and that conspiracy is now fact. Well its fact in the sense that TPTB want the public to know that there is a deep state/shadow gov.

The "Deep State" is just a way for Conspiracy theorists who have traditionally been antagonistic towards or paranoid of the government but suddenly find themselves on the same side as the government because they are also Trump supporters to continue to complain about the government. It USED to mean something when politicians seemed to play for the same team, but as it stands now its meaning has been perverted by Trump's inability to accept criticism.

America is not an autocracy, and Trump is not an autocrat. Nonsensical argument.

For a generation, the people who saw something like an American deep state—even if they rarely called it that—resided on the left, not the right. The 9/11 attacks triggered the rapid growth of an opaque security and intelligence machine often unaccountable to the civilian legal system. In the 2000s, the critique focused on a “war machine” of military and intelligence officials, defense contractors and neoconservative ideologues who, in some versions, took orders directly from Vice President Dick Cheney. In the Obama era, the focus shifted to the eerie precision of “targeted killings” by drones, and then the furor over Snowden, the ex-National Security Agency contractor whose 2013 leaks exposed the astonishing reach of the government’s surveillance. “There’s definitely a deep state,” Snowden told the Nation in 2014. “Trust me, I’ve been there.”

The system of speaking of a "deep state" installs a wrong image in your brain. Is there a "deep state" in other countries? Sure? Why?

@Merkel: Thank you, fine.

Uhh... Do you speak German or did you believe the translation? Bc that article is not very Trump-friendly.
Just asking.

There is nothing about a "swamp state" in that article, but about Trump trying to destroy the "checks and balances".

Simply put.

The deep state is a political party( that was defeated) trying to overthrow a democratically elected leader.

Denial.

Ain't just a Russian false flag screaming 'They stolen the election from us' for an entire year river in 'Murica.

The British have their own version of deep state, the 'permanent parliamentary under secretaries' who actually run all the ministries, the PM appointed figureheads are just that.

I vote that "We, The People™" get to make up the codename of the un-seen enemy as it will be Us that get to pay for some new 'web system' or something. Like having to be probed to ride in a plane or have our intraweb traffic spied on to prove We aren't part of the aforementioned 'unseen enemy'...
