This website obviously has glitches, flaws,or bugs built into it.I am noticing this left and right all over the place.I am constantly having to refresh the webpages a few times just to see the forums when reading. When trying to reply back to another person's post,I can't.I have tried over and over and over again and it will not let me on the original post. No,I haven't done anything bad to get banned or rejected from this website. This is my first time being back here in 2 years. The only way I can reply back is when I go back to my personal forum,or profile (where it states all the threads I posted at) and then I click on that persons profile. From there, then it takes me directly right back to to the same post I started from that I wanted to reply back to begin and then I can finally reply back.Weird don't you think?

I honestly do not know what's more stranger: the mysterious paranormal things I read about on this website (which I adore and cherish) or how I am able to reply back to others. If I am to,and I mean "if" I'm able to,reply back to someone on the original website I have to literally refresh the page alot of times in order to get things done.

I'm using chrome if that means anything and I've tried firefox, same problem.Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

Can the moderators please fix the reply button? I'm already having issues with the search button on this site on a different thread.

Try a quick refresh.

Clean your cookies, cache and history.
I have to occasionally do this as I experience the same.

Get a copy of Ccleaner.

Run it.

Your problems will vanish.

I use chrome as well and never have these issues.

I recommend scanning for any viruses, ccleaner like the other poster recommended and also checking your browser extensions that might be causing issues

The site is working fine here on firefox, so it's probably a problem on your end.

Maybe try running the free version of malwarebytes, which may or may not find and help remove whatever is causing your problem.

Letting everyone know I found the culprit why the reply button wouldn't let me reply back to anyone is becasue my ad blocker was on.Once I took it down, presto, problem gone.I tried everything to solve this case then I thought huh hm I wonder if this is it? Still, this website has gone through alot of changes over the past couple years. There's glitches everywhere, bugs too.I can't complain too much despite the fact how interesting of all the topics there are to chose from and counting.I've yet to figure out why the search button includes other websites and not ats own.I'll be figuring that one out in the mean time.

~ I appreciate everyones help ~

All software has bugs, and, as far as I know, there aren't that many on ATS, at least bugs that affect members' posting.

One thing that was changed relatively recently was the reaction against ad blockers, some things are disabled when ad blockers are detected.

There's also another problem with the webpage itself. It has to refresh itself a few times before I can actually see the whole page.Half the time there's absolutely nothing on the page,it's completely blank, then I refresh it and it's blank again.I refresh it and it's half there.I refresh againnnn then it's ok.All in all,I would have to refresh like 4-5 times before I can actually see the whole thread or go back to my profile to view all the threads I've posted on,then click on the threads I want to visit just so I can view them properly.

Sometimes I see problems like that using the latest version of firefox to view ATS on my computer with an older graphics card where I can't find a good driver update, so I use an older version of firefox and that solves the problem.

On my other computer with newer graphics card and up-to-date display driver, I don't see that problem, even with the latest firefox. It's a strange problem, and I don't have problems with the graphics drivers on anything else, just the browser, and with that it seems to only be a problem on ATS. But I do suspect if there was an updated driver for my graphics card it might solve the problem. The card manufacturer lists one, and I tried it but it doesn't work properly, so I have to use the driver that came with the card.

This seems be the only website I am having issues with when it comes to having to refresh the page a hundred times over before I am able to view the whole thread.Ever since I came back to the website, after being away for 2 years, things have gone very strange and weird on my laptop.I believe my graphic card is fine,I believe anyway.I don't use firefox hardly at all, period unless over the past week just to test out this website pages seeing why I couldn't reply back then I found the problem.

Somebody mentioned "extensions" earlier on.what could that be? what extensions? Is that the issue with freshing page wise?

On Chrome they are called "extensions", on firefox they are called "add-ons".

Some of them intentionally interfere with "normal" browser operation, such as the noscript add-on for firefox which prevents execution of scripts as a security measure. That will make many websites non-functional.

This is the Chrome description of extensions, just make sure you don't have any that can interfere with normal browser operation, or maybe some buggy ones aren't intended to but do anyway, so be careful what you install.

That never happened to me and I don't remember anyone complaining about it.

As Arbitrageur said, it could be related to the graphics card.

In Chrome's settings, click the "Advanced" button at the bottom and look for the "System" section. In that section, if the "Use hardware acceleration when available" is on try to turn it off and see what happens.

I think Firefox has a similar option.

BigBurgh claims its happened to him occasionally. This is the only website I have "serious" lagging issues.I had another problem for one day and I think it went away.Every time I refresh the page, and it doesn't matter which area of ATS I'm at or thread I'm reading, there's always a different back ground. That alone could affect my graphics card.It may not be my graphics card in general, but ats's site background is weighing in on down ON my graphics card making it appear the culprit is on my end but it's not. That's a possibility.

The other possibility is the add ons and extensions are interfering with ATS's site.I'll look into it.

I doubt it. The background I'm seeing now is only 47.8 KB, many members have bigger avatars (although they shouldn't) than that.

Did you try to change the hardware acceleration option in Chrome?

I haven't as of yet and I will eventually, soon.I have alot to do this weekend. If nobody else is complaining about this major lagging then it must be an ad or ext on my end.BigBurgh did mention it's happened to him time to time. For me it's alot of the time and it's died down alot.I must have downloaded an ext not compatible with ATS plain and and simple.Question is,wwhich one? That's why I need to carefully dig through everything seeing which one it is.There's alot on my end for good reasons. When it's all said and done and fixed,I'll post the results so noone else deals with what I had to deal with because it was really that bad with the lagging, slowing, and refreshing.
