can't believe you guys are convinced that the people of the world will be going around using the word "Ripple" as a term used for money in every day life..

if it's supposedly targeted for the world reserve currency, then that's a word you're going to have used more than all the times people say the term for their own currencies every day.

it will pretty much be the most commonly used noun on the planet in day to day speech...

and it's not gonna be the word "Ripple"...

"yeah, i just need to borrow a couple Ripples, dad."

"hey how much for a date?" .."50 nipples i mean ripples"

You too can own this do nothing waste of space for only 5 low payments of 9 Ripples"

sounds like something from a game for kids, like the currency for in game credits...
"Unlock this extra power with 50 Ripples! .. make sure to get your parents permission!"

it's NOT being adopted now and it wont be in the future because it has super crappy branding.

i guess the word Ruble is used and that's not far from it, still sounds dumb.
and a short versoin? "Rip"?
... "yeah that guy was killed for ripping that other guy off for 80 Rips.... so R.I.P buddy"...

That was gold.

This was more like mold. And here's why:

Banco Santander prepares for Q1 roll out of personal payments via Ripple

Who is Banco Santander?

NEWSMoneyGram CEO Plans Waves With Ripple

But Holmes made it clear that’s the speculative part of the crypto world – and not where MoneyGram sees the value or value proposition.

Within the ledger technology – the actual underpinnings of cryptocurrencies – is where Holmes said there’s potential. With a nod to Ripple and the nascent partnership with MoneyGram, Holmes focused on two areas as a near-term roadmap for using alternative currencies and DLT to solve MoneyGram’s real business problems.

Ripple’s xRapid is a foreign exchange investment vehicle that allows companies to take their U.S. dollars, convert them to XRP and, within seconds, convert them to another fiat currency.

Rather than MoneyGram putting millions in cash into a country and then exposing that cash to price volatility, Holmes said, they would be able to exchange money in real time and on the fly.

SBI Virtual Currencies to Exclusively List XRP at Launch

They have quite a few institutions, large, medium, and small taking advantage of their tech right now and trial running it.

February is when many of these trial runs are supposed to end and full burn implementation is supposed to begin. That's why there's so much news around Ripple these days.

The fact that you think there's no adoption when it is quite clear there is, shows you haven't actually paid attention.

Now they're saying this.

I'm covered either way.

I intend to follow their investment advice. It may seem crass, but they've managed to stay rich and prosperous despite global upheavals.

That's pretty much the level of financial security I'm looking for.

I'm pretty sure he's right.

BTC stayed in the single red digits today.

$GBTC did too.

It could go down more. We'll see. XRP is moving for sure, but institutional demand is going up.

When the smoke clears well start to see more realistic valuations for a while before we see another serious bull market,

Have not. I'll look it up.

We should start dumping info on good tech projects into a thread. Maybe in the sci and tech forum and take some of the investor talk out of it.

Late last night I made a move and picked up some ADA for .38

Maybe I should have bought a few more. I almost picked up some XLM at .39

I'd love to increase my stakes in both.

ADA/XLM.

I'd like to quintuple what I already have and branch out to another 25 different ones.

Stupid video card.

I'm still fishing for one.

I probably will pick some more up when the market goes back down.

I still have some money saved up for a video card. The old computer I got from my brother in law didn't have a graphics card. It powers up but I do not know if it works or not. I dont really want to buy an expensive card if the computer won't work.

It has two pcie inputs.

I am going to have to upgrade the psu. It is only 250 watts.

I'm not in a hurry with it.
