The sheriff's office also told 11 News that the situation is "not looking good for us."
A source in the sheriff's office told KKTV that the situation is 'not looking good for us' as deputies were shot at.
Denver 7's Tony Kovaleski tweeted that at least one civilian was shot and that the gunman is down.
UPDATE: DENVER (AP) - The Douglas County sheriff says a suspect fired more than 100 rounds in a shooting that killed one deputy and injured four others, along with two civilians.
Sheriff Tony Spurlock says the unidentified suspect was killed during the Sunday morning shooting in response to an initial report of domestic violence.
