Robert De Niro's character in "The Mission" is one of my all-time favorites. Just an amazing job by De Niro in so many ways.

Plus it's a really awesome movie.

Christian Bale as Dicky Ecklund in "The Fighter"!

Edward Norton in Rounders was great, also American History X, anytime an actor makes you hate a character, he's doing a good job.

Also have to add James Gandolfini in Sopranos. Yea it's a TV show but the subtlety and nuance that guy had as Tony Soprano was unbelievable.

But really, high drama aside, my favorite CHARACTER in cinema has to be Snake Pliskin, Escape from New York/LA.

Him or the crazy Irish guy in Braveheart. "I'm the most wanted man on my island" "You mean Ireland?" "Yea, it's mine"

That guy stole the movie lol "The almighty can save me but he's pretty sure you're f###ed!"

Tom Cruise, Tropic Thunder, also a cameo that stole the movie.

Sandra Bullock's character Lucy from "While You Were Sleeping".

This came out just after my divorce. At that time I worked for a woman who reminded me so much of Lucy that I could have easily told her to leave her husband for me. Sadly that never happened.

Lucy : Do you believe in love at first sight? Nah, I betcha don't, you're probably too sensible for that. Or have you ever, like, seen somebody? And you knew that, if only that person *really* knew you, they would, well, they would of course dump the perfect model that they were with, and realize that YOU were the one that they wanted to, just, grow old with. Have you ever fallen in love with someone you haven't even talked to? Have you ever been so alone you spend the night confusing a man in a coma?

Robin Williams as Popeye. I never would have believed anyone could "nail" the role of Popeye in a live action film, but he did.

Peter Faulk as Columbo. Just perfect, what can you say?

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes. I didn't have high hopes for him in either role but both times I was impressed.

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. I'm just a sucker for a guy who is smart, strong, tough, and doesn't make stupid mistakes.

Bruce Campbell as Ash. A personal favorite. I can totally believe this is how a guy with average intelligence working at a department store would behave if he was sent back in time with a shotgun and a chainsaw.

Tommy Lee Jones @ Clay Shaw in 'JFK'. him staring down Costner at the end of the Easter Sunday Interview. wow.

So many good ones...

Christopher Walken in pretty much anything, but especially in Joe Dirt, and in 8 Psychopaths (or was it 9?)

John Malkovich in Red, Red 2

Al Pacino in the Devil's Advocate

Kurt Russell in Overboard, Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China

Harrison Ford in pretty much anything, but Indiana Jones, Star Wars, c'mon....

On actresses, not sure if it's just their sexiness vs. acting, but....

Kate Beckinsale as Selene in Underworld

Margot Robbie as Harley in Suicide Squad (even though the rest of the movie was, eh...)

Elizabeth Hurley in Austin Powers and Bedazzled

Fairuza Baik in Craft and Waterboy

So, so many I'm forgetting here.
