When it happens, I'll eat crow.

Your source is business insider. A known MSM whore.

Think back over the years. Specifically since 9/11. Have we not been on the brink of WW3 every year according to various MSM ( and alt news ) sources?

A year ago at this time it was Russia who was supposedly about to spark a nuclear war.

How'd that pan out?

Agreed. This is fake hype. Fear porn. Another carrot on a stick.

Or better yet, an indicator that the masses still buy BS by the truckload.

I, personally, will side with anyone who tells the truth, MSN whore or not to be honest...if they are right and factual, it doesn't matter the affiliation....however, I DO agree with you that it's hype, it's just not fake hype...it's real hype based on soothsaying.

To say North Korea is likely planning a war with Anthrax (which they could, but unlikely) is tantamount to saying that I will likely die of Black Widow venom because enough exist out in the wild.

I imagine they are.

They've got a long way to go, other nuclear powers had them and destroyed them already.

That's the thing about weapons R&D, it's easy to replicate something you once produced in abundance.

It wouldn't take much for any nation to begin producing CW's, especially those with the research and an advanced petrochemical industry... Like a nation such as Israel perhaps?

North Korea didn't sign anything in regards to chemical weapons. They could admit to CW's tomorrow and say it's for defence and civilian research.

It won't give us any more right to relieve them of those weapons, whether you're "saving the world" or not.

That may explain why he ordered the assassination of his half brother out in the open.

Russia’s Olympic team has been barred from the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The country’s government officials are forbidden to attend, its flag will not be displayed at the opening ceremony and its anthem will not sound.

Any athletes from Russia who receive special dispensation to compete will do so as individuals wearing a neutral uniform, and the official record books will forever show that Russia won zero medals.

Ok so the Olympics are in SK and Russia is banned?
And we're supposedly on the verge of war with the super evil NK?

It's like a script.
How do you think it will play out though?

There will be no long protracted war for any war profiteers. The profits are in the status quo, sell to all NK's neighbors in the region and build up US forces. If Trump attacks that pops the cork on all their profits.

I was thinking the same thing, but testing with anthrax on small beans missiles could be a "dry run" for other pathogens that could create a much bigger impact. A "pox" epidemic could do some real damage. a reply to: alphabetaone

If he has VX why would he use Anthrax?

How do we not know if this guy was a sheep farmer? Sheep dander is where we get anthrax from. every year somebody comes down with anthrax poisoning due to sheep dander, and Media Corp jump all over it as new terror attack. In this case since we know nothing about the person inflected with the poisoning, we can't tell if it's laboratory anthrax, or natural anthrax.

Again, why use anthrax when you have VX?

I would say that's likely. If Kim loses his people he has absolutely nothing. The day those poor people wake up and realize the world operates differently than how they imagine, they are gonna be PISSED.

Why does this remind me so much of Colin Powell at the un convincing that Saddam's cooking up chemicals in his agriculture trailers? Really this whole NK thing is really beginning to bother me as BS. Don't get me wrong I like trump I voted for him, but NK sounds like the new IRAQ, Libya, Afghanistan, ISIS defense spending program.

You'd have to ask the liars in the media who came up with the story.

My opinion: The intended audience of this story already has a mental affiliation with anthrax from 9/11. Most folks don't know what VX gas is.

So, why don't we create a defensive around North Korea and shoot those suckers right on their own homeland before they can gasp.

If any anthrax gets a boost in space, Kim has had his last Twinkie.
Same as nukes. Light a fire under one and it begins.

Sure seems that way

***WARNING: OLD MAN RANT AHEAD***

Like that time when Gen. Petraeus told Congress that the biggest threat the US has to deal with was Al Qaeda in Central America. Nobody wanted to talk about a middle-eastern terror group in the Americas, so it got passed off as non-sense. Even after Michael Dorner somehow ended up with a cashe of weapons that was reported as destroyed by US contractor in Afghanistan. When the issue of a middle-eastern terror group was slowly invading the US, then Director of the CIA Petraeus got stone walled by Congress for a lack of evidence (think Fast and Furious program for this). Then Director Petraeus "got caught" in a very vague scandal that had him stepping down in a very public way. Thus ending any talk about this terrorist group working out of our own country at this point.

Same darn thing. A terrorist group in Central America isn't a concept that people can get their heads around, so we like to keep terrorist groups only in the middle-east. Even if they are now all over the place like LEGO Bricks in the night, we just assume that they are where they are suppose to be.

***OLD MAN RANT IS OVER***

So just like my rant, Anthrax sounds worse than VX. Middle-Eastern Terrorist sound worse than Central American Terrorist. Instead of reporting the news, it looks like the news just needs a headline. Regardless of authenticity.

We all lose

We should question this report in its entirety. The reason for this is that with an isolated country that allows very few people from outside into it, and ultimately controls what information about it to go out.

So with that being stated, and knowing that where one has livestock, anthrax is going to be present, how can we tell if this is a valid story? We have no clue, we have very little information about what the capacity is going to happen. And if invading and war is all due to what a country may have or do, then do we want to open that door up and risk the exact same kind of treatment later on?

And the same equipment that is used in the production of nuclear weapons and biological agents is also used in more mundane means such as production of fuel for power and for biological research and the creation of vaccines as well.

Personally I do not believe this, as it would indicate that North Korea is going to not only invalidate treaties that it signed in good faith, but bring forth the condemnation on its head. And it can ill afford to further alienate what few allies it has by engaging in use of Biological or Chemical weapons.

Well, that's true to a degree. In this scenario, where do you think he would test that? Other than on his own people, he would still face challenges upon any re-entry for the biological agent to retain its integrity.

Exactly! This is where the story really falls apart.
VX is a way better agent to use than any Bio-weapon.

Well if its coming from CNN than I have a hard time believing this is anything but another propaganda ploy to get the public behind impending force projection against North Korea. Well hey, I am ok with that though, NK needs to be managed properly and its people liberated. So if its going to take CNN to peddle more fake WMD's stories beyond the nukes we know about, then so be it.
