It's amusing how you seem to feel entitled to other people's money.

The tax cuts aren't a gift, the govts not giving people money. It's just taking less money away from people that it shouldn't be taking in the first place.

Did you expect everyone to get a raise for Christmas?
Did you believe that if liked your health care you could keep it too?

Someone is going to pay those taxes. The costs of running our huge government will not go away.

Take a guess at who pays those taxes (unless we add it to our "tab")?

At least if a corporation is taxed you can choose to not buy a product, but not if fees-licenses-gas taxes-state taxes go up. You pay those or men with guns will come and "get" you.

Only in 'Murica will people snip about tax cuts while supporting us all being taxed for not buying health insurance(CORPORATE PRODUCT).

The big prize is not the 1 trillion in corporate tax cut. The big prize is the 3 trillion parked offshore.

I'm also not a billionaire. I don't employ thousands of workers. I'm getting much of a benefit from these cuts either. I'm not getting $ millions in tax cuts.

How are you feeling about these tax cuts? $billions going to the wealthiest? To the corporations? Instead of going back into the country, back into much needed wasted infrastructure?

We'll just continue hoping it'll all trickle down right project?

It's going to trickle down any moment now, right?

So the wealthiest tax goes from 39.4% to 37% is there anything more to that in cuts for them that you know of?

I heard that the union was asking for $4,000 per person before AT&T went with the $1,000 bonus.
at $4,000 for each of the 200,000 emps that would have been $800,000,00.00. Maybe the layoffs have something to do with the union not getting their way and AT&T is trying to divert a strike.

I agree with you thread, something is broken. But just ignoring the facts is easier for some.

It is not "something is broken", it is something(s) that happened in the 70s that created the sharp divergence and taxes is far from the main changes to cause this.

Hint...Compensation changes, medical costs and real estate inflation will get you going in the right direction to figure it out.

stop trying to take from others and learn how to create for yourself, it's hard, it means you have to study for free in your spare time and make sacrifices to create your own wealth

less government, less taxes and more trust busting is what fixes the economy

More profits will go to stockowner dividends which are primarily owned by the rich. Trickledown right into the rich people pockets.

Not sure what you are looking for in some kind of instantaneous change...this is something we would look at a year or two down the line to see what impact it has had.

Yeah snip takes time. Especially in business.

Not that I'm expecting 1 for 1 here.

Not a loaded headline or anything. Companies should not be "pledging" to give money to workers. That's just stupid. The idea is that a) The USA has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the entire world b) YOU pay corporate taxes, you idiot, and C) The idea is economic growth, not to pad your individual pockets. After all, the large majority of you are ALSO getting a hefty tax break. spend it well. If those former tax dollars go into the economy, in whaEVER form, the economy grows and you benefit. Tax dollars benefit only government workers, bureaucrats who make more than you do already with cadillac benefits programs. Oh, and a TRILLION dollars a year goes into welfare to pay people who contribute nothing in the first place. This tax program is the best thing to hit the American economy in decades, yet the idiots still whine.

It.Is.Their.Own.Money.We.Are.Talking.About.

America isn't a socialist country, nobody has a rightful claim on the earnings of an individual or a corporation except for the individual or corporation who earned it. I get it, a segment of America thought Obama was going to usher in a long term Marxist system for the USA and not only did that not happen, but in his aftermath we've become even more capitalist and it stings your cheeks something fierce... but it is the reality of this country. Personally I hope this is only the beginning of a beautiful renewal of personal responsibility leading to personal gains, a rebirth of the American dream of being able to enjoy the fruits of your own labors as you personally see fit.

For the first time in years the number of grubby little hands digging into my pockets is actually reducing. It's a magical and absolutely natural period of time right now.

That is not true.

To begin with it's quadruple taxation.

The company pays TAXES.

The stockHolders(middle class) pays TAXES.

Taxes Again income tax.

TAXED AGAIN at the alternative minimum tax.

After the corporate income tax is paid on the business income, any distributions made to stockholders are taxed again at the stockholders' tax rates as dividends. Income paid to shareholders as wages are also taxed on the shareholder's personal income tax return.
