Gerald Krein, age 26, is charged with solicitation of mass suicide, planned for Valentines Day. Prosecutors plan to add a charge of attempted
manslaughter today. Police say that he was caught when a woman from Canada saw a message in the now closed Yahoo chat room called Suicide Idealogy.

Gerald Krein, 26, is charged with solicitation to commit murder for organizing a mass suicide on Valentine's Day, possibly while the female
participants were all logged online at the same time, said Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger.
"The common theme is that these were women who were vulnerable, who were depressed," said Evinger. "He invited them to engage in certain sexual
acts with him and then they were to hang themselves naked from a beam in his house."
County Prosecutor Ed Caleb said no one knows for sure whether Krein intended to bring participants to his home or conduct the suicide over the

Krein had been trying to solicite suicide since 2000, according to old chat records on Yahoo. Police are not for sure yet if he had been successful
in soliciting suicides, but they are continuing to search. Police have currently found 4 of the women he was in contact with.
In two of the cases, Krein was talking to the women and asked them to bring their children down with them to commit suicide. He evidently wanted them
to kill their children with them. The woman from Canada was going to join them until she saw that one woman was talking about bringing her child and
killing them before killing herself.
Krein was arrested Wednessday, Febuary 9 at his mothers mobil home in Krameth Falls, Oregon, where he recently moved to from Sacremento, California.
