The 1% got the whole game rigged, the table tilted, all the cards up their sleeves, cameras showing them our hands, the dealer stacking the cards, goons at every door with guns...

They've legalized mass scale robbery.

That's the reality here.

I dont claim to know all the solutions but the writing is on the wall and they're beating our heads into it every day. The writing on that wall is written with our own blood, the goons at the doors are police and military, at this stage.

Thank you very much for this breakdown, StallionDuck! Truly. And you made me laugh a few times, too, which I need, after seeing your chart that shows what the asshole Senators did. And what's worse is that, like you said, they dally around til the last-ass minute. On our dime! They dally around on our dimes. What the hell are we paying them for? (Apparently, we are paying them to act like horny jerks and then use more of our money to keep their victims quiet).

I'm in the middle of the lower-middle class range, so I'll get $1100, looks like. Not to be ungrateful but that's not even a months' rent, where I live. It will come in handy, for sure! I want it! I still feel jipped somehow, just a little. I don't know if I'm being an asshole by feeling that way, or not. Oh well.

No you should be ecstatic, that 20 bux a week will change your life.... Winning!.

The problem is we need spending cuts.

And no one wants to be the one that bites that bullet.

Look at how many dems are saying a tax cut will be the end of the world.

Can you imagine the hysterics if someone actually tried to restructure Medicare or social security?

But until then, our future generations will c9ntinue to be saddled for our over spending.

When you threaten the world over a "lost cause" Israel/Jerusalem your spending is going to just keep getting bigger and bigger... Ever wondered what would make the Gold Standard World currency a reality

Yep, you are right, spending is out of control. Tax and spend dems, ever since I knew about govt.

There is more than enough money generated through taxes, to take care of just about everything everyone needs.

The govt should not be in the biz of wealth redistribution or be an unlimited charity.

People used to want to go to the USA to Make money.

The people saving the least paid the least. When was the last time someone making minimum wage and raising a family didnt end up making money off the tax credits, with no tax burden at all?

If you are poor and have kids you get paud by the government each tax filing season. It can make up to 30% of you annual income.

Meanwhile folks like us have finally stopped getting the shaft.

The problem is the system has been bent on wealth distribution from the bottom to the TOP, by endless carefully crafted layers and caveats, for 100+ years. And yet the upward spiral trend, for the TOP, has only been accelerating the past decade plus. Their principle is to screw us with said spiral system, and we're supposed to be principled enough to not even question it otherwise we're little socialists. These multinational corporatists, they aren't on anyones side but their own, they dont care if people are capitalists aside from everyone thinking the two are the same thing helps keep their game running. That game, that spending we're talking about, they've got the politicians running the spending on military + intel comm that keeps their mercantilism in play, they've got the entire NIH etc etc national science apparatus dropping endless countless billions annual to develop life extension technologies that by the time it all hits they'll be the only ones that can afford them. All that spending that slicks their path of domination and destruction, there you go that's the national debt that they're pumping up to beyond precedent that its an inevitability to be the final blow to the economics of all the little people of the world. Because its their design to ensure that only the 5% can afford to become 'immortal' via the tech. This is literally a Religion to these people, where quite frankly by the time they have immortality and robots armies to do all the work how many 'useless eaters' does anyone really think they'll allow to live when Earth worship + Malthusian obsessionism is the other half of their religion.

Low income people may not pay Federal Income Tax but they spend a much larger percentage of their income on sales taxes, gas taxes, state income taxes, vehicle registrations and licensing, permits to build on their own property, taxes on fast food, fishing and hunting licenses. We all support the government.

Low income people also pay Social Security taxes on all of their income. If everyone paid on all of their income Social Security would be totally funded and we might have enough left over for health care. Radical thought I know. If you are a person for purposes of
contributing to political funding then pay Social Security like a flesh and blood person.

Oh damn! Sorry guys. I wasn't refering to anyone. I was refering to how ATS forum wouldn't let me add anything after a greater than sign to notate a specific line. I had to edit the post 5+ times to figure out where it was cutting half my post off and why. I realized how that line could have came across only now

I WISH!

Look at what we in Canada get smoked with!

I pay 46.41% tax. Granted our health care here is free...for the most part. But still, for the amount of time I actually need to go to the hospital..I feel Im being wayyyy over taxed

Canadas tax brackets

Damnit man! I think I would go upheaval if someone literally took half of what I made. That would really piss me off to no end. Seriously, almost half?!

Sorry man. Time to move to the US, ay?

All the whiny libs complaining about this need to understand that the Republicans are the fiscal wizards, they know whats best for the economy and fiscal responsibility is their motto, so how can you not trust them? Also, its easy to complain but when y'all finally become millionaires/billionaires you're going to be salty that your extra couple of million are lost and you can't buy that sweet 3rd Ferrari you've been wanting for Pearl Harbor Day.

Only the little people pay taxes

2nd

There is literally mountains of evidence that the top earners pay a majority of the taxes in the USA.

But sure, keep on believing this.

Is it really so hard to understand that if you are in the bottom 40% and pay virtually no income tax then a tax break won't really help you?

I just don't understand the Democrats right now. This is EVERYTHING you ever wanted in a tax plan. The rich keep paying the same or more and WE little people get to keep more of our money!

It's the most PROGRESSIVE tax plan I've ever seen!

Dude... Stop slinging mud. It's NOT about democrats OR republicans. Get with the program or peddle your wares somewhere else. The entire focus of the OP (and yes I had to re-explain it because many were focusing too much on very minor comments in the original post) was the 4% difference for one group specifically and how fast and hard they pushed it through. The conspiracy side of me thinks that it was done on purpose just for that reason so it would go undetected.

Stop shoveling fault on one side or the other. This post has nothing to do with sides and everything to do with one specific tax bracket and how the whole thing was handled. The comment for the poor that I made in the OP was further explained in one of my responses on the second page.

Abolish Tax...

Ron Paul 2012!!!

I would certainly go for that. Tax only businesses and corporations and stop the property and income taxes. That would REALLY MAGA. I'd even go for a consumption tax over income tax any day.

When you make a lot of money, you get more than half of what you make taken away. The below represents the min/max wage in each tax tier. Notice that the upper tiers have incredible amounts of tax burden...then apply what you just said to how they must view it:

I'm very happy that I could offer a chuckle!

I'm in the same mindset. I'm happy that I'm getting an extra 1,000 and change but really what does that do for me? That's a couple of free oil changes, maybe a new set of tires. It helps some, depending on the cost of living you're having to endure for the sake of making a living. Back "home", that would have been a few months rent but here it's less than 1 month.

I am happy that I'm getting more back, truly. I just saw that 'glitch' or 'oversight' and it triggered me. I'm ecstatic that you caught the purpose behind my post. I'm certainly glad that someone caught on to exactly what I was trying to say and it made sense to you. Not so much to some... lol

Is nobody realizing we're all going to need that extra 1-2 grand back to help allay the cost of internet price hikes that are coming now that we repealed that stupid Net Neutrality thingamajig (ie. I don't know what it was but if the Democrats supported it it must be evil). Really the Republican's are just looking out for us, the little guys!

Wasn't my point, Tex. However, I have to sympathize for them and so I gave them a little love in my OP. Reason why is I see it in my own family, my own mother and father, cousins, siblings, etc. As I mentioned before, it's not all black and white. There is a lot of grey there. People do struggle with and without jobs. In some places, welfare is needed because they simply can't "load up the truck and move to Beverly...". Those people would get tax assistance anyways but some of the ones closer to that 9-10k limit in the same situation, actually trying to work and doing so with what is available, will not be covered where they're short. That also goes for the folk who make nothing and have to rely 100% on welfare, medicare and SS. Still, that's another thread on it's own. I was just showing some understanding to the lower bracket because I understand that as well since I lived it.

I'm really not trying to direct towards how much people are getting back but who the changes seemed to favor in some odd way. I get that the more you pay, the more you'll likely get back. The %'s just don't make much sense after the Senate got ahold of it.

If you make less than $10,000 you shouldnt even have to pay taxes. But then you do and you need government handouts. Thus keeping you addicted to them, contented from uprising. This is Lenin 101 stuff here.
