I just can't understand this uproar at the casting of a comic book character. Is this going too far? Just asking.

Alexandra Shipp Gets Lesson in Colorism

From Madamenoire article:

Unfortunately, actress Alexandra Shipp has been on fans’ bad sides since she decided to take the starring role in the dreadful Lifetime Network Aaliyah biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. You know, the one that Zendaya considered but almost immediately wanted no parts of and the role of Missy was unrecognizable. Shipp was already getting a strong side-eye for that choice, but when she was cast as Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse, she really became the target for harsh criticism from fans who were campaigning to see actress Lupita Nyong’o in the role. The other night fans didn’t hesitate to go all the way in on Shipp’s choice of words in a thread that was started by a fan who merely asked if Shipp was excited to team up with Thor as Storm after news was released that Disney had officially taken ownership over Fox:

There is too much people wanting to control things that they do not get to decide. If you want to change things you have to have the money to do it yourself. And some people will never be pleased. Just saying.
