Great post.

At the bare minimum we know this investigation and the fall out from it due to leaks etc. has affected the publics faith in the system and the current administration more than anything else.

So those that paid for and used the dossier which large parts came right from Kremlin sources have given the Russians the easiest and most significant method to affecting our country.

It's bad enough we know Hillary's team and the dnc paid for it (and lied for a year) but of the fbi did too, that means the very people tasked with stopping Russian influence actually are most responsible for it.

It is truly an astounding situation.

Well we already know important parts of it are wrong, such as the prague meeting with Cohen.

But let's assume that the thrust of the dossier is proven true and it is proven trumped worked with russia to steal the election.

First, he should go to jail.

But then look at what we are left with.

The precedent is now set for pence who would take over to have his team and the rnc pay a foreign spy or former one from let's say Israel to go to Iran and dig up dirt on his opponent in 2020 from the dems.

That spy then also gets paid by pences fbi to work with Iranian officials to get dirt on the dems.

As a result of this dirt, pence launches a full investigation of his opponent and team, possibly using this paid for info to get fisa warrants to spy on his opponents.

Pence then instructs his Intel agents to disseminate all of this investigation to as many agents as possible.

He then has his opponents that were surveilled unmasked and leaked to the public.

He then tells our allies that the dem opponent may be compromised by Iran while the investigation is ongoing.

All the while the very fbi that paid for this dirt along side pences team are the ones investigating if its true or not.

And when people cry foul, the response will be "oh so you don't care if the dirt is true, you don't care about Iranian meddling in our country"

This is the future that anti trump people are rooting for.

You're right.

The whole investigation is pointless.

Any crimes which the investigation discovers (lying to the FBI) should be ignored.

Yeah. I would like to see Trump gone. But I'll accept the results of the investigation(s); of the investigation(s) of the investigation(s). Because, what?

No one is saying that.

But the investigation has to be impartial.

But I get it, you hate trump, so you don't mind if the investigators are biased and acting inappropriately.

At least we know where you are coming from.

No one is free of bias. No one.

Does that mean our judicial system should be scrapped?

It's not just bias though.

An agent texting He is rooting for trump to lose is one thing.

But saying he discussed am insurance policy with the deputy director of the fbi in the case that trump wins? Thats a whole new level.

As is people on Mueller team that were lawyers for Hillary's team.

But fine, even in those situations, this bias doesn't prove the investigation will be tainted, we should look at how it is being handled.

And what do we see?

Leaks on an almost unprecedented scale from Mueller teams and the fbi to hurt trump.

Stonewalling congressional oversight committees which they are legally bound to respond to.

Charging trumps team for crimes that Hillary's team was let off for.

And you are fine with this?

And now the possibility that the fbi paid for opposition research with Hillary's team to get dirt on trump from the Kremlin?

Again though as you have shown, you don't care about an ethical investigation, you just want to see trump taken down.

This is the truth with many people, you merely pretend to care about rooting out Russian influence. In reality you are more than happy to have the fbi actually pay for dirt from the Russians to take down trump.

You appear to be quite stumblefingered this evening.

In addition to your usual propensity for stating rumor and "leaks" as fact.

And you have outed yourself as not caring if the investigation is a partisan witch hunt or not.

You just want to see trump taken down.

He's not concerned with that at All.

His system is this, if it's someone he doesn't like, the there is no need to try and be impattial, do whatever is necessary to take that person down.

No need to ensure a juror does not have a conflict of interest. No need to make sure the investigators did their job impartially.

Anything goes as long as his enemies are the target.

Now if it's someone he likes being targeted, well now impartiality and fairness would matter!

False. While I would not be sad to see Trump gone. I will accept the results of the investigation(s). For these reasons:
1) I happen to think that our system of government is effective, if imperfect.
2) While I have no power to decide who holds power in the judiciary, I do have the same power to elect those who do have that power as anyone else does.

I accept that the courts (and in special circumstances, Congress) carry the ultimate authority, whether or not I agree with the decisions made.

Do you?

You do realize that, while humans cannot be unbiased, they can strive to abandon those biases?

Can you honestly say that our president is without bias? Can you honestly say that he fired the Director of the FBI without bias?

How would a straight " No" affect any investigation. Unless it was a lie.

Comey got himself fired by his conduct. And trump can fire alot of people hes in charge of the executive branch. Has nothing to do with the fact he deserves a fair investigation.

No. He did not fire himself. Trump did. Because of "this Russia thing."

Ill say im conceerned in light of some of the things we discovered about the investigation. But i believe the truth will come out one way or another. Even on Flynn looks like he was set up. And they were trying to get him prosecuted.
