Aw man... good shower.

No fireballs, but some goodies

Best December one I've seen. Of course, it's the only time in December I'm seeing the Milky Way right above my head... which is nice.

I'm sure the jacuzz doesn't hurt.

'Tis rather nice

My wife thinks I'm nuts.

But I've been watching these showers since a HUGE one in 1980.

I love 'em.

Perseids last year here I counted 120 (2016) best one ever, and lots of whole-sky spanners.

OK I'm at 36. That's enough for tonight.

I'm sure they'll be spraying at 2 per second once I go to bed.

LiveMeteors.com is going wild now. The only way I can experience the shower in this overcast other than Slooh, and I think the best. The coverage of this particular echo pair covers most of the Eastern and Central US. The VHF is from upper Canada, and the receiver is down near Washington DC. Pretty cool.

Well, last nights viewing of the heavens was, for me, ruined utterly by a fat band of rain which absolutely pummeled my district for hours and hours, from right around ten o'clock onward. It must have ended in the early hours, but the sky was dirty as hell for me while I was out and about, and so nothing was seen. A shame, but these things happen. I hope those who did manage to catch a glimpse of the activity had a wonderful experience.

We had cloud cover the whole time. Super bummer!

Hopefully others had no issues and maybe some can share what they witnessed...
