does your employer give any sort of christmas bonus or gifts?
christmas party?

anything

so at 1 today we all got called to the west side of the foundry for a mandatory gift receiving. it was sweet.

so the president and vice president of the company are in town. we're lucky.

they are standing there in front of plastic tables full of gifts as we all stand in a big ass half circle in front of them.

starts with a bid talk and then they call names drawn out of a hat and we go get out # and shake hands.

i got a cookie sheet. its funny cause other people got other pieces of the set this cookie sheet came from.
there is a dude in finishing. he is about 55. he got an olaf snow cone maker
the custodian lady got captain america the winter soldier blu ray
dude in shipping got an indians hat

i was a big to do.

no bull#.

i guess vendors give our buyer # all year. she saves it and they hand it out.
net little system

Ya know, I always thought your avatar just had something wrong with her nose...like it had been broken before or something.

I just now realized it's smoke!

Cool story, huh?

Oh... the OP.. yeah we had a Christmas (er. Holiday) party. But I didn't go.

I work remotely, but a co-worker that still works in the office said someone (don't believe they worked for our company - we share our building with several other companies) died of a heart attack while working out in the weight room today.

Sad story, huh?

One year we all received leatherman mulit tools, and then the manager did drawing. By the time of the drawing everyone of the 60 mechanics are good and drunk and a great time is had by all. The drawings were large craftman tool chests, playstations really nice gifts.

The company took real time to plan and they do not throw a cheap party.

My employer gave me a bunch of paperwork to sort and finish, equipment to repair, and an ass chewing about getting my sh#t more organized. ...

But then again, my employer is me.

A cookie sheet would have nice.

We get coupons, they are random, and vary from OK(One "get out of jail" free card for being up to 30 minutes late), to collector grade(One "get out of jail" free card for being drunk at an office event and grabbing the bosses daughters ass).

The guy who got one of the lasts ones kept it in an acrylic case inside of his office safe. Used to wear it on his neck at every party, get smashed and just linger around with it on. A master of suspense, he never used it though, it was thought that it's power was soo great that if he did, the sun may have actually imploded.

So pretty basic stuff.

Years ago I worked for a good outfit that worked us like slaves all year, hot or cold- rain or shine.
But the owner handed us an envelope with 1000$ in it for xmas.
I was seventeen at the time, and I felt like a god.
Good memory, thanks for the reminder.

Our land lady at work always comes over each year with a tray of cookies!

The company I work for are cheap @ss bastids. We had one company party, four years ago??, it was fine for what it was. But each group stayed together and did not mingle. Computer nerds are not extraverts! So after an hour or so of hanging out, snuck out and went to the brew pub to drink with the boys and flirt with the pretty bartenders.

Now you have something to cook your Pilsbury cinnamon rolls on this Sunday!

Hella sweet!

At my company we had a nice Christmas Party, it was pot luck so everyone contributed, the company put up the meats and drinks, there were door prizes put up by each division head. The boss made an few announcement followed by nobody goes home empty handed. Their were about fifty employees there and everyone got a check for a thousand bucks. I hear they been doing that for over thirty years.

No matter how sweet, I have an issue with accepting "ass gifts".

Merry Christmas anyway!

We have a little thing at the end of the year, office table is filled with stuff vendors give us, plus some gift cards and stuff, and the order we get called is 1st person that goes was the most on time employee for the year, and so on.

Pls we get an envelope with a card and christmas bonus, bonus depends on how long you have worked for the company, ive been there 13 years so my bonus is capped, but it is a nice amount. Hellany amount is nice lol.

I used to work for a company that did christmas parties. But now, since I'm self employed, I don't get a sweet ass bonus anymore.

Before I'd get some clothes(work clothes really) Bout 400$ and a 50$ gift card to a nice steakhouse. Those were the days...

I do get tips sometimes.. ranging from 20-100$

The mine I work at puts on a big Xmas party every year.
Ice sculptures, enormous buffet and desert buffet, a candy bar to bring stuff home for the kids. The past 2 years now, we've had a comedian.
Lots of prizes to be won.
Last year I won an IPad, 55 inch tv and some other stuff.
This year I won a crappy flashlight.. I took it out of the package to use it the other night.
No batteries of course.

We always get taken out for a decent Christmas end of year shindig and an open bar for a evening, sadly nobody really drinks much but the boss. Normally play a lot of billiards on the night, the lead up to the Christmas week we get couple of weeks worth of untaxed pay as a gift
Everyone, from the secretary to the chief salesman, socialism at work. Not complaining, we are a great team and value each other, it's nice to be valued.
Great boss as well, he does put the effort in to run a smooth ship

The last year's was really fun. They took us to Unser racing to do these super fast racing cars on an indoor track. As fast as real ones pretty much.

This year's was good too but I didn't participate in the games because I am not a huge fan of escape rooms and am doing one again a week from the party with my fam, so I just mingled and enjoyed the free food and booze. Was at a brewery called Gordon Biersch. I had a lot of beer and a really tasty schnitzel. So could be worse.

Before the Unser one the same company took us to one of those painting and wine events. that was fun too. Any job with free stuff is good lol. Especially since I have worked a ton of # jobs like temp worker for IBM call centers on graveyards where you work on holidays and other holiday sometimes working things like Army, or even the ever crappy retail or food service which as we all know have no parties.
