I just quoted you the actual text of the ruling itself. Nowhere in there is there a right to an abortion, only the right to seek medical treatment which the court decided was divided between when a child is viable in utero and when it isn't. So they wimped out on the question of what constitutes life and right to life for purposes of dodging the issue of the conflict between a woman's right to seek treatment and have privacy and a child's right to life.

They also recognized that states do have a compelling interest in protecting the rights of children to life too. THat is also in the ruling.

The ruling itself has been massaged to get people to think there is a right to abortion when there isn't. If there was, I could deliver everything about the child and snip its spine prior to delivering the head (late term abortion) on demand everywhere and no law could stop me because I would have that right.

lets not forget were all free to keep our opinions to ourselves.

All any of us have here are our opinions.

Saying what you stated is the same as telling me to shut the # up.

I will politely say, "No".

I'll take your opinion under advisement.

Well, not really.

I knew I'd piss off some people because they really don't believe in freedom.

Seems I'm right.

We are growing some tea plants. They are called Camellia sinesis. They are from Russia, Japan, and China. Grampa has them in Dads old bedroom upstairs next to the devil plants. Great Grandpa doesn't know about them. Im not supposed to go in there, but sometimes I do. I just say I was checking on the Tea plants. The devil plants smell funny like a skunk eating a mango

The SCOTUS said a woman has the right, which is held within privacy rights, to an abortion during the first trimester.

Hence, right.

That'll be null and void as soon as SCOTUS decides to give fetuses the right to live... which shouldn't be much longer now.

Freedom, I believe that we are all free to do absolutely anything we are capable of doing, we truly all have free will. Unfortunately everything we do has consequences. So go a head and do whatever you please as long as you understand there are consequences. Ultimately we are all responsible for our actions that are accompanied by reactions. No one is stopping you from doing anything unless they are actually physically stopping you somehow.

Laws try to control your actions, but law enforcement is mostly reactionary. Cops and other law enforcement can prevent crimes and sometimes do, but they mostly respond after you have at least tried to break the law.

Human rights and freedom are related but not the same thing. You use self control over your free will unless someone else exerts control over you somehow. "Badges! We don't need no stinking badges!"

That was intentional. That has a country accent attached to it.

I have a sneaking suspicion this thread is going to go badly.

In any case, now I'm going to go pee off my front porch...because I am free to do so.

...and nobody will see anyway!

I would love holding one in until I left the elevator and then do a silent one as I am exiting. Now you know how my mind works. I'm sorry.

Some of us don't subscribe to the idea that we get our "rights" dictated to us.

Some of us don't subscribe to the idea that some people's beliefs can dictate and deny our own rights.

Interesting point considering that it's the beliefs of the Supreme Court handing down your rights you're professing and, limiting the ones you have.
