This is my first time uploading video on youtube.
I first thought it was a comet. But it was unusual when I saw it floating at the sky.
What do you think it is?

I wonder if you might have actually seen some of the USAF or other fancy (B1-B ?) or other planes that were recently sent there for part of the war games. Seems like a practiced maneuver and maybe that's what the afterburners look like when they are lit.

I don't follow the planes enough to know much but Zaphod or some other ATS with that kind of knowledge might be able to jump in here and set us straight.

I see the flames here:

You will never see a comet that close and you will never notice one to move as they are always too far away to discern movement.

I would say that is a large jet at about 40k feet moving toward the setting sun such that it is still in the sunlight while the camera is in the shadows already.

It's a contrail reflecting the sun.

S&F first off for seeing, reporting, and filming.

Kudos.

It doesn't display any non-conventional maneuvers and seems to be reflecting sunlight or possibly using afterburners?

I can only imagine what you'll be seeing in the skies over Korea as tensions continue to build.

If it was something using afterburners it wouldn't be leaving a trail like that. That's just a normal. I've seen quite a few that look like that over the years.

Contrail in the sunlight. From a two engine aircraft too. Probably passenger jet.

I misspoke, i meant leaving contrails....

A little too much after work relaxation has made me a touch idealogicly dyslexic.

It's definitely a Bird or a bug...
Or a lense flare....
Or swamp gas...Wait,It's a weather balloon!
Final answer.

Here's your video.
It's cool whatever it is but I'm not about to give my opinion on what it is.

How many times can you be wrong?

People don’t get that the earth is not flat. Jets fly in curves across the face of the earth. If it is flat, either they crash into the earth, or, they fly into outer space!

Contrails and sunlight can appear strange and trippy. But when you can recognize it then it becomes as Zaphod says, normal.

After that, just align what you see with what you know!

Thanks Zaphod, that does make sense the more I think about it.

Generally with afterburners you don't see the flames in daylight, unless there's something causing it to be just a bit dark, like cloud cover, and then you're only going to see a tiny bit of flame at the right angle. I love night takeoffs with afterburner though.

We were at an on base fireworks show for the fourth of July and got a B-1 departure. The show was right next to the runway so we got the noise and light show. That was actually better than the fireworks.

It's an airplane contrail. The sun hasn't risen or has just set and the plane is higher than the attitude of the sun and the light is reflected off the bottom of the contrail. There are no afterburners or any thing like that, it's just the condensation of moisture after the burning. If the sun was above the plane the contrail would be white.

Next time you can use a site like Flightradar to check if what you are seeing is a commercial flight, that helps remove false identifications.

Keep looking.

It's been on here before claimed to be a ufo more than once but it's a contrail.

Oh and I would use manual focus if possible and get that window cleaned.

Sunlit aircraft contrail. They fool a lot of people.

Korea Standard Time is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
So 7:22 AM in KST, 9 December is 10:22 PM in GMT, 8 December.

Playback should be available for about a week before data overwrite.

KAL1630 Playback link

It appears to be Korean Air Flight KAL1603 Seoul to Ulsan, Boeing 737 flying at 25,000 feet.

Good link on how far contrails can be seen
