I agree that the resignations will be used by the dems to paint themselves as righteous and to attack trump and Moore. Franken pretty much said as much during his speech today.
But just a week ago many of the very same dems calling for his resignation were silent on him or defending him. Same with Conyers.
If the dems are so high and mighty, Why did they wait for weeks to speak up?
Also notice how they seem to only have the courage to do this when it won't cost them anything.
Both franken and Conyers seat will be filled by a democrat, so it's no big deal for them.
When it will cost them though, the dems will happily defend accused sex offenders.
They defended Bill Clinton all through his term.
Many even defended him of these charges during Hillary's campaign, and we're happy to have Bill be campaigning for democrats.
Now that the campaign is over, the Clintons are of no use to the dems, and they can now decry Bill because it is politically useful to them.
I personally feel that no one should be forced to resign, Republican or democrat, until they are given a fair hearing, through the courts or ethics committee or else where.
Imagine if Roy Moore wins, and then the republicans say he should resign.
The democrats will rightfully say the republicans don't really care about the accusers because they we're more interested in keeping the seat than calling out Moore because they waited for him to win so they could out a Republican in.
Yet that is basically what the dems are doing.
Its all a charade by both sides, they are more interested in using these accusers for politics rather than taking the alleged abuse seriously.

That really does amaze me. We're less than a year away from the 2018 elections, and it's painfully obvious that the Democrats don't have any kind of platform to run on. I doubt they've even thought about it yet with all their endless attempts to nail Trump for something-or-other.
Come next summer, they'll be scrambling like a kid who just realized that his book report is due tomorrow, and he hasn't even started it.
My words stand alone, and frankly they are not even partisan if you cared to go back and read them carefully. I have been careful to point out that party's on both sides of the aisle are just as corrupt and guilty.

no, the republican party isn't in the strongest position it's had in about a century....
it was much stronger after 9/11 and if I thought about it long enough, I probably could think of several other times when it was much stronger.
i'm tempted to say that both parties are weaker than they've ever been! we[ve got a small portion of each party trying to become the identity of the party while the majority of the people are more middle of the road either leaning a little to the left, or little to the right. there's a better chance of both parties losing those middle of the road folks and us ending up with a three party system than there is that those middle of the road folks are gonna accept the policies of those who are so far left or far right.

so we should dismiss any claims of such that come from future pages and brand them as liars, for the sake of politics? maybe they can be bought off?? what is the going price for a child's innocence now days anyways?? ever think that maybe, just maybe if the accusations had been taken seriously to begin with, instead of covering them up, branding the accusers of liars, or just paying them off to go away, we wouldn't be having so many accusations today??
That is what a court of law is supposed to be for...or at least it used to be...
