There was no auction. He simply gave the land management responsibility, back to the State of Utah. It is a lot of land 3.2 million acres. Obama did a massive land grab before he left office. Trump is simply undoing what Obama did.

That's some wishful thinking right there. To think this administrations only goal was to let cattle graze on gov't land and give to the people is purely naive. The land is gonna lose its federal protection and sold to the highest bidder. Maybe cattlemen will buy up some of the acreage but you better believe the wealthy elite behind all the money in our land will suck it all up.

I do hope in years time your perception is right but that's a pipe dream.

Exactly. For instance in Nevada, specifically around the Ruby mountains, it's public land ran by the BLM, however the land surrounding the mountains is all leased grazing or private land owned by the ranchers, fenced off with no trespass signs. Limiting access to the fishing, hiking, camping etc of public lands.

I think those trashing Trump for everything went to the same school as the Birthers and Caliphate claimers for Obama.

I do not understand this approach. The President becomes the focus point for all one perceives is wrong in the universe.

If this change of hands back to the state of Utah (presumably) stands, it has yet to be seen what will happen to it. Some states do a better job of preserving natural heritage than the Federal government. Of course, some don't.

In your opinion, Colorado falls in the latter category. Fracking suffers from too many cooks in the kitchen which is where the industry wants it. Federal, State, and Local agencies all arguing over who has authority, meanwhile the wells just keep pumping.

Good news everyone, looks like Trump listened to the Uranium lobby regarding shrinking Bears Ears Monument, so that they could open even more Uranium mines in the area. Finally we can all benefit from Uranium company executives getting richer and enjoying that sweet radioactive trickle down.

Its also important to note that most of these sites site on Navajo (and other native tribes) land and surrounding territories, and as superfund sights have yet to be cleaned up, poisoning the water and peoples of this area, which should help America further its ambitions of removing Native Americans from existence.

The Washington Post has a good summary of this:

You should see all the abandoned mines in Nevada, Tax payers footing the bill for clean up after the mining corporation declares bankruptcy after getting all the minerals out first. Ugly. Holy Arsenic batman!

All oil wells all gas wells are subject to real property records in the states you are talking about you can find oil and gas well information in Texas, Colorado and Kansas in your local county clerks office when a well is drilled it has to be recorded in the clerks office and all states have a regulatory administration that deals with oil and gas drilling where you have to obtain permits for drilling the only type of well that doesn't not have to be recorded is a water well.
