S. Supreme Court justices on Monday signaled a willingness to let New Jersey legalize sports betting in a case that could pave the way for other states similarly interested in allowing such gambling as a way to fill their coffers to do the same thing.
Here in the Mt. SW high desert, casinos are owned by the Native American tribes and on NA pueblos or reservations property. There are stringent rules and regulations on the types of gaming allowed. But being as how NA property is considered sovereign territory; I wonder how this potential ruling will affect the gaming industry here and in general. imo...Let Freedom ring!!
I support states right, property rights, and freedom of expression.

It should be up to the individual as to how they want to spend their lawfully acquired money. Finally a little reality from the SC.

I think all vices should be legal... specifically gambling, drugs, and prostitution. It cost way too much to prohibit and I rather see resources spent on rehab, etc. Tax the snot out of it and then lower taxes on non-vice stuff.

The reason the state is looking to do this is because with the plethora of casinos opening in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania it has caused many Atlantic City casinos to close. The allowance wouldn't fix the problem though, which is Atlantic City is a disgusting pig sty.

I don't have an issue with the allowance since I'm not in the Mafia and this doesn't cut into my illegal sports book.

I'm not in the Mafia.

Only because there is no such thing as the mafia.

You probably would if they existed.

So many stories.

None of them, if I told you, are real of course.

I saw this earlier and almost posted, so thanks for posting.

$160 billion dollars worth of sports gambling each year... and it's only legal in 4 states.

That number, as states follow NJ, will significantly balloon!!!

... not that there aren't already ways to bet on sports online.

To each his own. This is the right move & I'm not sure how it will be regulated, but with regulation comes a large monetary boost for government.

I spend a fair amount of time in the poker rooms and there are usually multiple TVs with sports on. I would be great if we could place a wager on our favorite team while losing our ass at holdem or Omaha.

It's great to see the tribes prosper after so many years of negelect and poverty. Capitalism, the way it should be....

lmao!

As a past holdem player (just when it blew up in the early 2000s) and current sports gambler, I completely understand.

I only become a fan of teams when I need them to cover or hit the over
