I’ve been trying to document interesting phenomenon but i only have journals and an ipod which makes low quality night videos and pictures

I was thinking of trying to get a camera for myself for xmas this year (i’m poor) and was wondering if you could suggest a camera that i coukd find at a typical electronics store like best buy, which creates clear night pics and videos. I was hoping for sonething tgat could pick up star light so you can see the constellations in the backgroubd of any ufos i might capture on film. The ipod only picks up the moon, venus, bright ufos and lights.

This should get you started:

You need a camera that has a shutter speed of at least 15 seconds, a timer trigger, and a tripod.

Modern cameras can’t make good videos of the stars?

I guess it depends on what you want it most for?
I have a Nikon Coolpix P900 83x optical zoom. I can see craters in the moon as if i was there. So if you want a camera for hella zoom pictures/video I suggest the P900. My friend has a Canon and when we went on holiday his Canon made much better pictures/video, even in low light.
