OKin all seriousness(I have to keep telling myself that ;D ) there's a great deal of socialism in society today. I don't mean just welfare and the like but any collective need. From garbage collection to defense. It's all paid for by the collective. Now the abuse of that collective money is an issue.

Medicare/medicaid spending now accounts for $1 trillion in spending.

Where does that money end up ?

I think you should be able to keep all the money you like. It is not my place to take it from you.

That being said, you should not be able to keep all your money and still live within a society in which the rest of us choose to contribute to the betterment of society for goods and services.

The anti-tax folks seem to desire to be the ultimate free-loaders.

Not in this country.

Abuse is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Even us socialists believe in fiscal responsibility.

The problem we seem to have is where we agree and disagree on what is responsible for us to do as a social collective.

again, *not a socialist* but, the idea of socialism is to abolish the State and Governments, corporatism, bosses, etc. so under capitalism, you pay taxes, and pay into the Government and Big Pharma, but, the idea of socialism and its final form of communism is to abolish all that

the entire point of Socialism/communism is to not have monetary systems in place that put value/class hierarchy on anything, thus, "robbing" would be absolute.

the idea being, everyone benefits from everyone instead of having a boss, or state, or government middle-person

I think I found the problem. The distinction between 'your' money and 'our' money. Our money is in the treasury, your money is in the bank. So robbing the treasury is robbing us of our money.

I don't want these tax cuts, they don't help me. In fact, since I make less than $100,000/year and I still pay state and local taxes AND I have a mortgage I'm, probably, going to see my taxes go up. What's probably going to happen is the GOP is going to look at how much money they've just added to the deficit that they'll just need to cut something. First to go? Social Security and Medicare. Guarantee it. There are 41 million people in poverty but we need to give more money to people who already have more than 70% of the country.

It's never worked, tax cuts for the wealthy doesn't give any money to anyone other than the wealthy. Trickle-down is a farce, never works.

You have these people saying "we want small government" and communist ideology saying that all governments will be abolished, and somehow, smaller government is better than no government?
