Sorry. Premature post (this has never happened to me before).

So, looking for some thoughts from members on this.
I'm thinking about 20k into it initially.

A couple of relatives have been investing with very big returns.
Thing is...I know nothing about it.
I'm researching it now...but would love anyone's personal opinion or experience.

Do it and do it now.
It's predicted to be well over 10k by year end

Well I just checked and the prediction was correct.... it hit 10k today.

It's only going to go up. Buy 2 coins right now and hang on to them till the new year.
Your in for some large gains

+1. I am interested as well. Although not nearly as much money into it. There are 2 bitcoin ATM's within 20 miles of me. I may try one of those or keep looking online. There is also a way to practice transfers with fake currency. It is a mode you put a program in, for testing/developer purposes. Electrum wallet I think is the program which has it. Others may as well.

That way you don't mess up in real life and potentially lose all your coin. You have to be careful how you store it, etc. Anyway, I will be following this thread.

If you're talking about mining then its all about getting the most processing power per wattage (the operating cost).

I own 4,000 Stellar Lumens, 4,000 Ripple and 54,000 Reddcoin.

Ripple made an announcement today that a 100,000,000 $ hedge fund is only going to use it. These are very affordable coins and 2 of the 3 are performing very well.

I owned bit coin long enough to buy these other coins. Doesn't mean bit coin isn't great, it obviously is. But these are very specific use coins (stellar and ripple) to use to transfer money.

I know enough to say do your research.

Coinbase is an easy, safe way to get involved. They offer the ability to purchase bitcoin, ether, and litecon. I'd recommend going 1/3rd on all of those. If you want to switch back and forth, you can use shapeshift.io to change one currency for another and have it sent to one of your wallet addresses. For example, say you want to convert $1k of bitcoin into $1k of ether... Shapeshift. Done.

Now for some important advice... DO NOT PANIC SELL! If you put $20k into bitcoin and the price drops and your $20k suddenly becomes $18k, DO NOT SELL! I repeat, DO NOT SELL! Hold and wait. The price will continue rising in the long term, so don't worry about short-term losses.

Get in now and join the party!

So when you sell, do you have to pay a brokers fee?

CA says they are accepting Bitcoin. So it won't be long all transactions will be wireless and it will be a currency that is electronic.

So where do you store bitcoin that won't be stolen or hacked?

I gamble online alot and recently all the online casinos are making BC their preferred method of deposits and withdrawals'

I have been thinking a way to maybe get some bitcoin in your wallet a little cheaper is to deposit at an online casino with my cc like normal and if and when you win a little money withdrawal it to your BC wallet.

I have not tried this yet but next time I win I will.

I'm hearing you can't sell for a year, w/o 30% penalty.
ALSO that Bitcoin could quadruple by the end of 2018.

Good luck.

The coins I own (Stellar Lumens-ripple-reddcoin) for 70ish days.

Round numbers
Stellar Lumens- I bought at .015 cents now it is .083 cents.
Ripple I bought at .20 and .22 cents. It is now at .29 cents.
Reddcoin I bought at .00133 cents. Now it is .001306.

The point I am trying to make is there is great returns in well researched coins. Stellar and Ripple are trying to make sending money fast and cheap.
Reddcoin is basically a way to "tip" online. If you like a you tube video drop the video maker a few Reddcoin.

I'm been thinking about it too. But wait, one coin is $10,000? Sounds like it's over my head. I couldn't afford to lose that, so should I just forget it?
