Personally as POTUS I would meet with him. Give NK what it really wants which is recognition as a nation and perhaps we could stop starving the populace.

I too think that would be a good starting point. The only real way to accomplish anything. Right now the hang up seems to be the conditions we are placing on that meeting.

Or perhaps a massive strike aimed at the leadership only followed immediately by an even larger drop of rations and supplies.

All it takes for massive loss of life is one.

Especially when control of such weapons - regardless of how many they've got - are in the hands of a stinking despot.

You mean Trump, right?

He has the power to do it. Any time he wants.

Good idea. Probably high on the list.
Trouble is, where is the leadership at any given moment? Much less where will they be when the attack is launched.

Is North Korea a puppet state of the US?... the military industrial complex?

Its been said many times before, the US uses the leaders for the US benefit and then have them disposed of. Same will happen to Kim, just another leader will fill its void by China or Russia, that is how the game is played, politically that is.

I find that highly unlikely, puppets don't pull the strings.

Kim, apparently, has an heir. That's how the game is played in North Korea, and has been for three generations.

I was thinking about Lil' Kim, but this would fit our Potus as well.

This is precisely why we cannot allow one more warhead or missile to be built. Decisive action is needed to send a crystal clear message to the dictatorship.

If that were the case why didn't we first-strike the Soviets or Red Chinese?

My own thoughts are that nothing will be done about North Korea that has any effect.

Nothing will be done until NK uses a nuclear bomb on someone else.

No sanctions will work,
no diplomatic solution,
no military solution without killing millions,
all is lost when it comes to North Korea.

China won't do,Russia won't, the US won't,
no one will, because it will cause the death of millions

It doesn't mean to stop trying, but I think we all should start making sure that missile defense is a top priority.

There is no outside solution, North Korea has to either collapse from the inside, or the world has to wait until he uses a bomb,if he ever does and then re-unify Korea so that the people in the north can finally be "free".
It is a no win until he uses a nuke.
That is just my thoughts.

I agree. Diplomacy and sanctions just don't work. When will Trump & Co. wake up and smell the coffee?

Trump needs to understand that Kim does not respond to sanctions or talks. To insist on the same old tired "strategic patience" tactics - which, btw, they weren't supposed to use any longer - is nuts!

Here is what I think Trump will do:

Trump: North Korea just launched another missile. What should I do?

Trump: Oh, I know. I will go on Twitter and tell everyone what I think!

Trump then goes online and sends this Tweet:

"I think that @KimJongUn is a stinking little crybaby and needs to be taught a lesson. I know what to do. Don't worry, America. I know just how to handle this! MORE SANCTIONS!

Ever hear of the saying "while Nero fiddles....?' Isn't that what Trump is doing? Sanctions don't work but they do give Kim more time to perfect his wmd's.

We're way beyond sanctions. Way beyond. Here is what I think we should do:

1. Take out NK's EMP satellites before they are used on us.

2. Take out NK's WMDs.

3. Take Lil' Kim and put him on trial for crimes against humanity.

But Trump won't do this. He and everone else in DC will insist on waiting until the NK either EMP's or nukes us.

Time is running out.

Would you mind ISIS having only 1?

Trump should make an example out of NK for Iran and any other dickwad dictator regime on what will happen if they keep
making threats and working to make it happen.

2,000 nukes should do the trick.

That's only half of what we got.

Clean out the nuke closet, so to speak.

Make way for some new stuff.

Or chip Rodman and nuke em both. Take one for the team Dennis.

Here's something I found on Twitter and Yonhap:

URGENT) N.K. says it will make 'important' announcement at midday (Pyongyang Time)

Source

This was posted to Twitter about 40 minutes ago. The short blurb I posted is all there is to the report.

Edit:

North Korea announced the ICBM was a Hwasong-15.

A show of force is definitely needed. That NK guy is way too big for his britches, doing this.
