OK so to be clear you are not for the decriminalization of recreational drugs ? Becasue you have always said you were..

If this lady had a smoked a joint at lunch would you be demonizing her?

dude i am for legalizing drugs across the board and ive been known to throw some # back myself but this situation was not cool.

i dont care what my kids teachers do on their off time. i really dont man but you have to be responsible.
when it comes to MJ dispensaries they have to be like 1k feet from a school. cause you know, the kids. but a teacher bumping off in the class is no big deal?
am i in the twilight zone?

i dont care if my kids teacher gets black out #ed once she gets home. every day. fine with me.
be on point and sober when my kid is around

i enjoy the things i enjoy and i Never enjoy anything before or during work. # that..
responsibility man

i bet all you same people thinking this is no big deal would have lost your # if something would have happened and all sorts of things could have. least of which she could have lost it or had it stolen and some kid could try and blast off and OD.
there should be zero tolerance for this kind of #.

1st time and youre out. done

i cant believe that i am the voice of reason on this subject cause usually im like MOAR!!!!!!
MOAR!!!!!

I know man the children lol.. The children that were filming her were probably the ones that sold it to her.

Ths is high school man not 3rd graders.

It was not around any kids she was the only one in the room. I didnt see her offer a bump to a student did you?

She might not have had a class that period and needed a boost. Who the FU$$$ cares?

But BUt BUt the children man.

There are just certain standards some of us expect with certain jobs.

To me, it's like you're arguing that no kids were in the room, so she should be able to view child porn if she wants.

Crikey!

I prefer teachers on nothing. Shouldn't be a teacher if you have to do it. I drive a bus, often with students and others. I have to be zero alcohol while driving. I drive through tracks and mountains, rivers and creeks. Stressful at times. I also teach.

Why do I need drugs?

Afterwards at home I have a drink.

Drugs suck. Why supervise under the influence. Shouldn't be a teacher if you need coke.

bally

So should we bar teachers that take SSRI's, antipsychotics, benzos, and or adhd meds like Adderal (which is very much like white) from teaching?

Because Px drugs are just that. Drugs.

If yes, expect a large portion of the country's teaching staff to be removed.

Generally I find it's people that take lots of prescription drugs and or drink alot that are the most vocal when it comes to people taking illegal drugs. They spew their nonsense while high on xanax and Valium or whatever their legal poison of choice is. Frigging hypocrites.

Funny the damn teacher could afford such a habit.

My Drivers Ed. teacher would have us drive to his house and wait for about 15 min as he would go inside and get stoned.
He would come back out smelling of Guanja, and we would drive back to school with him sleeping the entire way back.. Easiest class ever.

Lol, the words people are using make me laugh. Dust heads and weekend train rides. In my day it was called skiing haha. And that kid is a twit, i would have exploited that teacher. Im more surprised at his stupidity for letting it slide, than i am at her drug habit. And what? No one is going to mention how he had a cellpone in school, filming stuff? Thats a no no, he needs detention.

Sure, I am on the back foot in this OP. So go for it teachers. Teacher. Meant a lot more to me when I was a young bloke. None of my teachers needed drugs. But then how could I tell. I always respected them. Any wonder my youngest don't mention the names of teachers.

Sorry, I am older. In my day teachers were respected. Never saw one under the influence. When I taught, adult education, I was always sober. Most drugs I had was a coffee at meal times.

In saying this I apologise to all for thinking the worst. I will now accept its okay for teachers to snort, smoke dope or take whatever drugs to help them through their day.

Again apologies, I am obviously behind the times.

Kind regard as always,

bally

I would be surprised if most teachers weren't on some form of medication just to see out the day. Having gone through the catholic schooling system i'm pretty sure one of the Nuns was suffering from roid rage. Sister magdalena, Gods Mentalist.

Wow, she really screwed up.

If you are going to be the kind of teacher that is breaking out lines at school, you also have to be the type of teacher that kids feel comfortable doing drugs with. Nobody would have gone and snitched on the cool teacher.

So why take them in liquid form?

Read my last reply. You shouldn't be a teacher if you snort coke or take other substances. There is no need for it.

are you under some impression that teachers don't drink?

For a start, I do not give a damn what a person does with their time, but... Being on, or coming down from a substance, whether it be alcohol, speed balls, coke, lysergic acid diethylamide, weed, shrooms, dimethyltryptamine or any other substance which would make driving ill advised and an arrestable offence, is not a proper state for a teacher to be in while in school.

I am all for people having the freedom to explore themselves, and I do not wish to limit what any particular person might do, in the privacy of their own homes. But when a persons job is to teach young people a subject, that person had better turn up to work bright, awake and straight sober.

Now, turning up during a come down, or while coming up on something for that matter, would be enough of an absolute no, no...

But doing it right there in school? I do not care whether we are talking about speedballs or shots of whiskey, you do not even BRING those things into a school, no matter how well (or in this case, badly) you intend to hide your activity and possession of those things, from the children. Its pretty damned simple... if you want a job you can do high, drunk or stoned, go and get a job which does not involve the youth, or setting an example for them as part of your work.

Again, I am not against someone having a drink, a smoke, or expanding their minds, as long as they have made a proper calculation of risk reward, are aware of the risks in the first place, and have the wisdom and maturity not to make habits out of things which might be bad for them long term... but there is a time and a place to indulge oneself, and that is not during ones working day, especially when one works around young people.

A whole lot of things our kids read in school was written by "dust heads" throughout history.

I have no issue with the usage; just the context. You know, being physically at the school.

Totally agree with you on this one. Have zero issues with her using it on her own time, but at the school crosses the line.

Also, some of the smartest people I have ever met in my life also have experimented with various substances on occasion, and some still do.
