I'm old school. Today is special.

Thanksgiving. Great food. Yes, football games....in the traditional format, family. Others can add to the list.

What adds to that pleasure is the lack of things...disgusting.

Somehow, even many of the old-timers avoid dislike, disgust, avoidance any, and I mean ANY feelings of criticism or 'no way'.

I would repose the concept that being disgusted, rejection and avoidance can be good things. It articulates our 'lines in the sand'. Sorry, but we don't have to accept everything or create a logic to justify compulsive inclusion.

Avoid the psychobabble that demands 'acceptance'. Ignore it.

The push back is well under way. PC is no longer, for many, PC.

So I say enjoy your Thanksgiving and give thanks. Exclude that and those that do NOT add to that pleasure of the day.

It is your right. It is your duty to yourself, your family and your nation.

Your post made me think of

Definition of mortification 1 : the subjection and denial of bodily passions and appetites by abstinence or self-inflicted pain or discomfort was customary to practice mortification during Lent 2 : necrosis, gangrene 3 a : a sense of humiliation and shame caused by something that wounds one's pride or self-respect the mortification of being jilted by a little boarding-school girl —Washington Irving b : the cause of such humiliation or shame
PC being what it is and what it is fighting for seems to be on the ropes big time as of late .

We have three different pies already made for the day!

Definitely 'pie correct'.

Educated repulsion is OK imo. Kinda like my feelings on the Giants/Skins game today.
Uneducated repulsion is ignorance.

Happy Thanksgiving.

The distinction seems valid.

Is it okay to be repulsive?

Cause that's the only flavour I come in.

You're right.

My stomach used to turn at the sight of a kid eating their boogers, but then I learned that boogers are actually good for kids. So now I just give them a big thumbs up and ask them to share.

I know. Its a shame really. Today they could have free healthcare, police that are not routinely armed, and, which is so much more, have a non-political head of state and be members of the greatest commonwealth of nations the world has ever seen. Bless our rebellious younger cousins. I am very glad and proud to be able to say we are still good friends and staunch allies.

By the way, I saw an interview with the recently appointed ambassador to the Court of StJames, Robert Wood Johnson, and he seems to be a first rate chap.
