Makes my skin crawl...especially the cadaver part, a live head attached to a dead body...or does that body suddenly have sentience due to the addition of a functioning brain?

So many questions.

There will be no soul/spirit/personality. That leaves when you die. A living dummy will be the end product.

Bah, head transplant.

Pfft.

What I want to know is when they're going to figure out how to program every man to sound like Sean Connery ?

See ?!

If every man sounded like Sean Connery, you guys could say all kinds of nasty stuff to us gals and we'd all just smile, melt, and swoon.

It's all in the delivery boys !

Chinese partner Xiaoping Ren already successfully carried out an animal head transplant on a monkey in January, 2016. According to the Italian, the monkey survived the transplant without any neurological injury for 20 hours before being euthanized for ethical reasons.

So it's ethical to cut the head off a monkey, transplant it onto another monkey neck (what did they do with the other monkey's head), study it for awhile..

But keeping it alive..

No that crosses a line.

It would seem that RT really is akin to The Weekly World News.

I'm holding out for a robotic body with built in jet pack and weapons. All weather, all terrain, capable of low Earth orbit or a quick trip to Mars.

I've said for years I want MY head transplanted on a billy goat's body,
They're rugged agile creatures with the ability to climb rocks and even trees on occasion.
They eat practically anything (I can wrap my mind around that haha) and have a certain hard to define charm.
With my face, brain and full head of hair we,
(my head and goats body)
would be unstoppable and strangely alluring to both human and goat females.

errr. I may to rethink this whole thing.

But then you'd have to factor in some humour into the brain -otherwise he's end up winning all the time as the Terminator

Man/Woman and machine to become symbiotic

I could go for Woman/Man/Woman - as a virtual cyborg whatever - all fun without the $'s in maintenance and upkeep.

How would you feel if you came back with the bottom half of Hawkings and the head of H Clinton.

OMG.

I'd convince myself that gravity does not exist but i could charge people to believe that it does.

Surely an operation like that ought to be called a "body transplant"?
In the case of a heart transplant, or a liver transplant, the patient gets a new heart or liver.
The practical effect of this operation would be that the owner of the head would get a new body. At least I don't see how the owner of the body could retain his identity.

Just remember folks, when shopping for a new body, make sure to check the proportions match. Otherwise you could end up with head that looks to small, or too large. Remember to take height into consideration! You must always give yourself time to adjust to a new height before boldly going back out into the world! How embarrassing it would be to be seen continually bumping your head in doorways? Last but certainly not least, you must prepare a whole new wardrobe before your operation! Shoes, shirts, socks, pants, underwears, your tinfoil hats! All must be resized, to your new size! (except the hats, but the hats just to be safe)
