So...as far back as I can search, Trump has NEVER used the location tag in his tweets....until his latest one.

twitter.com...

Now...he says he's leaving China, but the geo tag says he's in California.

First....why suddenly turning this on as it has to be specifically turned on so it isn't a mistake, and second....he says he's leaving China but showing CA....

There have been a lot of odd things in chatter on the net in regards to all the indictments and stuff in SA, so this just seems really odd to me.

I'm not Twitter savvy at all. Can geo tags be purposely altered?

That certainly is an odd message. Nice catch.

Something to keep an eye on.

I am sure they can make it say whatever, but why is it turned on for this tweet and no others? And why CA? He lives in DC.

Well that didn't take long for another brilliant comment from a brilliant anti Trumper

Could it be maybe his tweets are being filtered through a U.S. service, or something? "Filtered" is not the word I'm looking for, but something or other to do with security?

Oh, maybe "relayed" is a better choice of words?

And why is WALL in all caps?

By using a VPN (which he would have to so he can reach twitter in China) he can make it appear like he's in whatever location the IP of the server used is at. I used Texas/CA/Isreal all the time depending on what censorship I'm trying to avoid (looking at you NetFlix!).

A better question would be, why is it turned on this time but not before? That would seem intentional to me.

Or this:

support.twitter.com...#

What location information is attached to my Tweets?
Enabling location services allows you to selectively add location information to your Tweets. This feature is off by default and you will need to opt in to use it.
Once you've enabled location services, you will be able to attach a location (such as a city or neighborhood) of your choice to your Tweet. Simply tap the location marker while composing your Tweet, and select the location you wish to tag.
(Note: Once you Tweet with a location, your next Tweet will automatically include a general location label. Learn how to turn location off at any time here.)

"SELECTIVELY" , and, you will be able to attach a location (such as a city or neighborhood) OF YOUR CHOICE

Ok, I can see that, but what about the location tag?
Does that have to be manually enabled?

Isn't twitter banned in china?
Wouldn't he have to VPN to twitter headquarters in silicone valley?

Just asking cause I really don't know, nor am I tech savvy.
