Not really.

They likely own and maintain an address in CA for electoral reasons and barely set foot there.

We have at least one senator in Kansas like that. His actual home is in Virginia, but he maintains a property in Kansas for election rules reasons.

The usual excuse is that they spend so much time in Congress that it disrupts their family lives. Of course, Roberts is older than dirt.
