The McCain crap is was tied into the conspiracy theories surrounding the Mueller probe. It exists because McCain is the one who turned the dossier over to the FBI. He has not given detailed information though as to his involvement and reasons for getting the dossier and turning it over to the Feds.

The theory is he was part of the Democrats plan to sink Trump. Remember Trump campaigned for McCain at McCains request and once elected he cut Trump loose. Trump was able to accomplish what McCain could not - being elected President. Given McCains position on tax reform and obamacare before Trump was elected its obvious his actions are solely to undermine Trump.

People who live/breathe/eat internet forums and social media, find it hard to believe that 80% of Americans get their news from sources other than the internet.

As long as people realize they are internet trolls and don't take them seriously as a legitimate news source, that's a step in the right direction. But there are also a lot of alternative media sites full of disinfo.
