That was not a debate.
That was a grown woman, saying what she believes, then saying what she believes LOUDER, everytime the student tried to talk.

Very typical of people who have their mind made up already, with no intention of hearing anything different.

You also still do have to factor in interactions with police for violent crimes. That's where the crime stats come in. Black males are far more likely to commit violent crimes which puts them at odds with police far more often racially than other racial/ethnic groups.

I saw a post, on Facebook, this morning from Tony Robbins hanging out with Obama. Discussing things and initiative etc. Guys like that do that with every president, I know Tony Robbins has been in meetings with at least one Bush and Trump.. It's what successful people do. Just like Trump had Hillary at his wedding and supported campaigns for Democratic congressmen before.

However, people are so brainwashed that they immediately started quoting Michael Savage and Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh (All three known idiots and yes I feel the same way about Rachel maddow and Bill Maher) about how Obama was the worst president ever and all the evils that communist, terrorist, socialist, Fascist pedophile, Race dividing President has done.

I had to laugh. When we turn off the radio and TV pundits, and actually look at things in research them...two things come to mind. They're just trying to divide us and most of what they tell us is lies and propaganda to further a political agenda.

President Obama was not the worst prsident in history nor did he try to destroy our country and he didn't do more to harm race relations than other presidents. Tony Robbins should be able to have discussions with past and present world leaders without being criticizes because he was hanging out with the guy from the "other" party. We should be able to be Liberal and Conservative without being insulted by the "other" side.

If ATS has taught us anything...It's that all presidents are puppets and tools and are in it for the money and have done things that harmed our country. Reagan sold weapons to IRan for Gods Sake! I think Eisenhower and JFK were the last two real presidents that weren't puppets. Perhaps Carter but he was ineffective until after he left office, so I'm not counting him. All presidents have a good half dozen conspiracies swirling about them. Not all of them are true.

I thought that about that Tony Robbins post and the thousands of hilarious comments under it were on topic for this thread and how it's only the media we consume that is brainwashing us. Normal people who don't listen to buffoons on TV and radio don't have these types of fears or or anger against people. In all other aspects of life we all actually do get together...Antifa isn't waiting at the corner to try to fight you, Obama didn't create any Sharia Law zones in the US, Nazis' aren't coming out of the woodwork, All liberals aren't bad, all conservatives aren't evil, etc.

You can be Liberal or Progressive and be a good, intelligent person. You can be a conservative and not be a beer swilling redneck. We have to get past these stereo types...they just aren't true.

There is absolutely no data or facts that supports blacks being killed wantonly by police.

I think the reality of the situation is that cops in minority areas tend to have to deal with high crime levels and thus police accordingly which is more aggressively. I can't tell you how many times I've seen admitted gangbangers crying about how they are treated by police. I am like WTF? You are a gangbanger, how do you expect them to treat you?

I agree with you here and I apologize if it seems I was attempting to say police kill black people with impunity.

The numbers line up with what you are saying here. The number of white murderers and black murderers are almost equal. Since, as I pointed out above, blacks account for a smaller part of the population, equal numbers here indicate they are responsible for a disproportionate amount of the crime.

Perhaps not germane to the the thread (forgive me) but I have a question.

I appreciate black-on-black crime is distinct from police shooting black Americans. I understand one should not immediately point to one when encountering the other for a successful dialog.

However, here on ATS as elsewhere there seems to be a hierarchy (for lack of a better term) of social issues. Even more than a hierarchy, only certain issues are worthy of discussion. Even mentioning other, tangential issues seems akin to offense.

In this case, I am pretty sure no one would seriously argue police shootings are a good thing. The statistics are what they are. But why does it seem like a fart in the middle of the church service to even mention black-on-black homicide as a far deadlier issue probably requiring far greater attention if by body count alone?

For too many it seems one is kosher and the other is absurd to even consider. The idea that both issues could be addressed in parallel seems lost.

Egads! Watching the video, I can't help but not that she never, EVER, shut her mouth long enough to actually hear hat he was trying to say. Angry, bullying, and utterly stupid!! THIS is why the schools are failing; we have teachers like her.

As for the student, good job, for trying, and for having enough sense to see the facts, and not listen to the lies.

That woman has no business teaching anything.

I can't make out what the teacher is saying either in most of this but it sounds like this kid she's just repeating talking points. Wonderful, these two are having the same "debate" we see 10,000 times a day on the Internet.

Better look again - she states, when he tells her that the cops don't form death squads and go around targeting blacks, that, "Yes, they do!". That's HER fantasy, not his.

And, of course you can't make out half of what she's saying, because much of what she's saying is shouted over the top of what he's trying to say, because she's so insecure she won't allow hi time to speak.
