For the last time so listen up people.

Posse Comitatus prohibits active duty federal military from engaging in civilian law enforcement functions. The Marine Corp is a part of the US Navy and as such they are subject to the law in question. There is NO exception for the Marine corp in this area, contrary to what some people are claiming.

Only state guard units can engage in civilian law enforcement functions as they answer to the Governor of the respective states.

Congress can modify or even scrap posse Comitatus however they have not done this. The federal gove4rnment could federalize state units but only if it is by consent of the governor OR the president declares the state in rebellion against the federal government.

Military can only police those under their commands.
