This is interesting. Some hotel chains are now not putting bibles in their rooms. Their reason is because pushing religion turns off millennials. I wonder how many other industries are changing things due the new generation being so different?

Nah there is good money in mini bars, bibles and ashtrays are terrible earners.

Fair call, i can see the error of my thinking, I guess the bibles get expensive when the pages are used to roll up a splif or 2.

The question is: WHY is there a bible at all?

In our country, at least, the Gideon Bible Society donates them. So they are there if the hotel chooses to accept the donation (which has normally been the case).

The Gideon bible was always a good substitute when bog roll ran out...

Shame... loved the soft cheap feel...

my metrics for chosing a hotel are :

price

house keeping [ cleanliness etc etc ]

location

anyone who is " offended " or turned off by the presence of a bible in a drawer - is [ my opinion ] a numptie who i would not want as a guest [ if i owned a hotel ]

How would you feel if there was a nice little Koran on the bedside table for your perusal?

I heard that in Brazil it's not uncommon for hotel rooms to come with new adult toys in the drawer.

Fun hotel Bible fact: Dominatrixes and others with a similar profession will frequently sign the last page of the Bible to show they were in the room.

No idea just a question.

I can imagine an angry person in a tabloid kicking off if they went to a nice little English B and B and there was a Koran on the table instead of a bible though.

Who cares?
If they stop stocking shampoo I'll switch hotels.
I could care less about religious propaganda left in the night stand drawer.
They still keep a pen and pad in there and they have come in handy lots of times.

They still stock a plastic bag for my wet swim suit.
They still have an iron and ironing board and they all have blow dryers.
These are important things to have away from home. I doubt someone ever has a bible emergency in a hotel room.

They don't stock a Koran either. Again who cares?

Yup, nothing like doing your grocery list on Drake stationery.

If they don't spend money on bibles they may stock towels worth stealing.

Nothing like having a place to write down your nephews cell phone number or directions to the restaurant were supposed to meet at.

But a gospel need just never arose.
What can I say. We're heathens.
Atheists. Or agnostics.

The livery seems to have gone out of fashion. Wagon wheel manufacturers too.
It's progress. Things have always changed with the times.
